Joining Half Life family...

Should I buy the Half Life game or not? I never played it but everybody say that it's must have. Loved Freeman's Mind but not sure that I can appreciate it playing it now. Or should I just wait to someone will gift it to me? :P

Purchase Half-Life 2, install the Black Mesa mod, and enjoy Half-Life 1 in the Half-Life 2 engine. The last chapter isn't available, though.

I'd say go for it, though Black Mesa does update the very dated graphics. Definitely play one or the other....
