I had a situation like this. I use MasterCard pre-paid card which is basically like credit card but you can't go into debt with it. What you transfer into it is all you can spend. On Monday I put 30$ there. I spent roughly 9$. Today I look at the balance and it says 1$. I have no idea where the other 20$ went. I went through all the transaction confirmations on my e-mail and found nothing else. I can't remember doing any other transactions. Did any of you have this happen? What can I expect? Was I robbed? Do I have anything to worry about? I'm going to the bank to solve this tomorrow and ask for the logs but I'm anxious as hell because of it. Any advice/tips/thoughts?

Edit: Solved.

So basically once I made the purchase on a website for two items (separately) they put my funds for them on hold (as they always do on credit cards) and then they booked the money for them thus taking even more money from my card and that's why it "disappeared". Today the "on hold" money for the items were released and it all balanced out.

Annoying but seems like some merchants do that.

If its not too much to ask, which site you spent those 9 dollars at? Have you noted weird behavior on your PC?

Can be clerical error. Maybe some recurring payment you forgot about. Gods know, I constantly forget when my card is charged for the cloud I use.

Would send confirmation to my e-mail and I always follow it. Netflix and Apple Music is not on the end of the month and those are the only two I use at this time.

maybe you overlooked some fees ?
a 20$ fee is not unheard of if paying in a different currency for example.
But i have no experience with those kind of cards

They claim there are no fees and definitely wouldn't be 20$.

Sounds like you were robbed. By the government and their service fees.

Well you transaction history must show where that money went to one way or another. Even if it was "hacked"

That's what I'm scared of. What if it was used for some illegal activities?

you don't have some page to look at the transaction history? it should note everything you spend, including fees.

if everything fails, is that debit card linked to a local bank?
maybe you can go there and ask what's going on.

Yeah, there's nothing like this online so I'm going to the bank tomorrow to ask for logs.

That's the best course of action. Even if nothing is "wrong," you want to understand what happened.

Maybe the funds are on a Transfer hold? Which would mean the 9$ should also be on a hold as well. Keep us updated Hustlayo. :P
