I'm searching, but it's really only giving me basic options - not at all like the google results I've been getting. Just custom overall scaling which... scales unequally.

Just want to make sure, is this what you tried changing to a higher percentage (image below)? The option that I have at 100%, if you change it to something higher it should pretty much do the same thing as the google chrome zoom thing , but for your whole computer.
Resolution should be kept to display resolution.

Yes, that's it. I have it set to 133% - it's hard to really adjust on the fly because it makes me log out each time

Hook your laptop up to a nice big HDTV with an HDMI cable :)

I dunno, Fate, if I wanted to be tethered to a monitor I would've just got a desktop. (though hooking up to a big HDTV is the plan when I play games w/my girlfriend)
I suppose I'll get used to it, though I have a feeling that there's just some option I'm missing. If only I could get the 'advanced scaling options' to show...

On my laptop, I've got it scaled to 125%. Otherwise, some programs have different options. I know for Steam in the Interface options, there's a little tickbox for 'Scale text and icons to match monitor settings.' Should make it bigger for you? I hope D:
Otherwise, I don't know if this helps, but there's also an option of ClearType text for the blurriness?

I tried both of those things, and it's not helped much w/Steam. Both checking and unchecking the box - though I'll keep playing around w/it.

Have you tried changing the DPI scaring? https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5990-change-dpi-scaling-level-displays-windows-10-a.html

That's very kind of you! After fucking around with different options and restarting a handful of times, I did indeed find a solution.

Hello, SG, I'm wondering if you can help me!
I just upgraded my five year old laptop to a gaming laptop, and it is honestly a dream. Everything runs so smooth and so pretty, and I can actually play 3D games on really good settings. It's quiet and runs unspeakably well. It's like living in a cardboard box for years and now finally having the keys to my own home.
One thing I'm having trouble getting used to, though, is a higher resolution. Everything is far smaller than I'm used to! Old programs (I still use iTunes 10 because reasons) are blurry. Steam notifications and achievement pop-ups are half the size I'm used to them being.
I looked into changing the resolution overall, but there's no good middle option - anything less than 1920 x 1080 is unworkably small. On Chrome, I can just zoom in a little - I'm writing this at 110% as we speak - but that doesn't work everywhere. Any advice?
