@leonidas56 Totally check out Desert Sessions, their 11th and 12th sets dropped not too long ago. Its John Hommes' (of QotSA and EoDM) side project he works on occasionally with random people of interest. Each album varies hugely and each is eclectic and something different.

Traditional Irish folk, pleasantly earthy, dark and straight.
Their latest album shows some possible Comus inspiration to gain a general apocalyptic tinge. Very good indeed. Unfortunately the first two tracks are edits - still great.

In the mould of Zombi, the French duo Vaisseau have released an album which often has the sound of an early/mid-80s Rush album except without the vocals and final arrangements: I'd say both bands remind me of Signals in particular. (Less well-known reference but Goblin are in there as well.) We've got chunky Miami Vice synths and C-movie soundtrack ambiences. I can almost see the denim-clad young ninja who ties his chequered bandana in front of a nocturnal neon cityscape as he gets ready to take down the baddies. Add to that a hand-drawn cover straight from a 70s occult hard rock album (these days it probably makes one think of a Tower Defense game more than anything else) along with a dollop of Trans Am po-mo irony to end up with quite an offering.

found this yesterday by chance and it's been blasting ever since.

Well...so the new Elder album has been out for a while. I adored their previous release so was Internet-there the day it "dropped". I have let things stew for a while because I did not want to be unfair. But my opinion has not changed: while the previous album's sound is still there, this just sounds like a painting by numbers, phoned-in exercise in repetition. In fact the image that most came to my mind is that this could be the output of a neural network trained on the previous Elder albums, fractally self-similar to fifty thousand more alterna-Floating World albums such an algorithm could instantaneously generate. It's all there, but the spark has gone. Having said that most reviews are positive (although I am having a hard time taking seriously those who call this album original in some way or another) so...you know what they say about taste. Give it a try.
And to provide a second, contrasting mushroom soup, here is an album by Spanish group Arenna, purveyors of stoner prog in the Elder vein, which I like very much.

No, not at all. This is a 1980s ambient psychedelia group. Back then, I got this double album from another bargain bin based purely on the label it was on - Nate Starkman and Son, the Savage Republic label no less. I was not disappointed. This is a fabulous collection of outsider ambiences which are very diverse yet somehow coherent, and often straddling the borderline between hometaping and studio work. It is very far out although few traditional psychedelic rock style elements are used. Special mentions to "Nierika", "You are my rescue" and the final track although the album is another Gesamtkunstwerk as I cannot help saying, while anxiously eyeing the poseurmetre needle which now pushes 11 out of 10. Better stop then.
Anyway, a classic if you like this sort of thing.

Superb atmospheric pathos-laden black metal of the Russia/Ukraine school. Would work perfectly as a soundtrack for that Dyatlov Pass mystery. There are some metal-extraneous noises that probably make this technically post BM unless that's just the Kármán vortex street luring those innocent travellers to frozen doom?
A special mention for the second track, 'Пыль' - pure magic.

Weirdly enough, I've been listening to Miley Cyrus' covers for the last 30 minutes or so. To be clear, I despise mainstream pop, but this girl is apparently really gifted - she just needs decent material to sing (and apparently she's awesome in rock format).
