Just wondering if anyone has or is playing this game? It looks pretty interesting and I was going to give it a try, unfortunately it looks like the trial has been taken away. So I wanted to get some of your opinions, maybe someone even knows if this is on sale somewhere.
Thanks

and of course

This is totally the Secret World

I only played it for 2 hours so far but the game seems fun. The first zone is a bit rough, those zombies can swarm you pretty quickly. I like the combat in the game, I personally use dual pistols.

Been playing it at weekends and was part of the open beta. This is not a standard MMO. Yes it can be buggy (I get random appcrash which I think is related to DX11) and combat is basic but it is alot more interesting than any other MMO you may have played if you like the genre it covers. Basics include freedom to pick skills you want from the wheel set (google it and you can see what's available for yourself), limited missions (1 main and 3 side) but with no true quest hubs it means you explore and involve yourself more, and investigation missions (think SG puzzles but within a game, have spent entire evenings on some of these), and finally truly difficult dungeons where you have to learn and adapt as you proceed. Now that it's gone buy-to-play I've gotta recommend it if you can find it on sale but in it's current state I would say not to buy at full price.

Sooo...if there isn't a monthly subscription anymore wouldn't that mean it's free to play?

The correct term is B2P, buy to play.

So every game I buy is B2P?

The Secret World is an MMO unlike any other. It is puzzle/story/intellectually-based, so if you're looking for a button-masher or a shooter, don't bother with this one.

If you like to use your grey matter, however, you will like this game. You will probably get your butt kicked in the beginning until you become proficient at combat and solving puzzles, but once you get some experience and skill under your belt, there's a fantastic world to explore.

The game is about $20 US and free to play after that with an in-game store for micro-transactions.

I believe I have played it, but you carry on defending it coz you paid good money for shite if it makes you feel better.

15$ is a good money? Gotta rethink some things.

The game no longer requires a subscription to play, so it's Pay once, play forever!:D

Its fun if you're a roleplayer , it has loads of RP elements (like bars etc.) but if you're more of a PvP'er then no , I wouldnt recommend it.

It's a fun game, it has combat quests that are pretty MMO standard, but it also has puzzle quests that, without googling answers can be crazily difficult. The setting is definitely interesting, and the plot/dialogue is fairly well thought out and enjoyable, especially for it being an MMO. The endgame isn't very well fleshed out unfortunately, quite a few quests have bugs and I've heard the pvp is a bit lacking, but it was a pretty enjoyable game for as long as it took to get through the story at least.

It sucks, Played the beta and it was boring and the questing sucked. It did get a little better near the end of the beta, but I knew as soon as I played it it would become FTP. Not worth your time imo.

Love The Secret World. It's no subscription after you purchase it now. I just havent found the time to get back into it lately, but I recommend it. Not a hack and slash MMO, its entirely different and a lot of the missions require a lot of thought and effort.

I played they beta from the very start of it, and I really liked the idea of no classes. Having so many skills, so many that one player will never max their chart, is a great idea. However, it does feel a bit repetitive after a very long time playing. (Several hundred hours in I became bored) On that note, it is definitely worth the $30 price it's got. If not for the game's ideas, you many want to get it just to broaden your experiences with something to break up traditional mmo rules.
