there is not something like a equal dual core to everyone, you may have a powerful one, or not, if you have a bad one, then it will not be enough, if you have a newer one then all okay.

Your dual core should be okay for laptop, but is not powerful, it's less powerful than an i3 on desktop and your GPU is very weak, but it still should run on decent fps at medium settings I think.

Don't buy a laptop for playing GTA V.

You may be able to run it on lowest settings 720p @30fps, but it won't be that enjoyable.

Tried it on my i5, 660M Laptop.

i5 is good enough for anything. GPU is what matters and looking at youtube it looks like it is okay.

My advice: get a better CPU (I don't like the sound of the specs of the iabcU cpus)
gt 840m ... I'd say you might want a x50m... If I recall correctly, my gt650m beats the 840m, might wanna check a benchmark
also, it's cheaper to get a 7200rpm HDD than an SSD, it's still fast enough for laptop gaming, and has way more space (just be sure it's 7200rpm)

how much $$$ are you investing? (and where, prices differ between continents)

Depends on what dual core. I3 will do fine. i5 5200U will be completely fine for 30fps

I'm pretty sure it will. Also, if it doesn't, there's a super-low end mod out there. Just google it if you're interested. It runs even on a Intel Integrated Graphics with that!

Well, I run it fine on my laptop.
I have these specs:
I7-3537u
GT 740M
8GB Ram

I have all the settings on medium (= the lowest) and I play with a resolution of 1366x768, but it still looks pretty. I have 29-31 FPS constantly (I have locked it at 30, because of heat).

So the game runs fine for me, but I want to warn you that your pc may get very hot while playing, which would reduce the life-span. I recommend using a laptop cooler.

Good luck! =)

Not relevant, but you should use "a" and not "an" before dual
"an" is for words that start with one of the followin: a,e,o,u,i.
or anything that sounds like that. for example: an R.
cause R = arrrr.
or an ambulance.
