Though it's clearly a negative context on homosexuality, why is it such a big deal again? Freedom of speech and sharing ideas should be kept sacred instead of selectively picking out which stuff is appropriate and which ones deserves to be slaughtered in a witch hunt. Fifty years ago, assuming gaming and internet existed in the same essence as it does today, it would be getting the complete opposite reaction. Instead of acting like we have everything figured out and deem our beliefs as fact, why not just allow everyone to share their work and ideas, be independent by having our own opinion, and let everyone else be independent and decide themselves if they wish to support the game or not. If we were to label everything as black and white, you might find plenty of games do offensive things and get away with it.

Fun times. Everyone is forgetting that it isn't shooting "gay guys". Ass Hunter, at least the original, was a game where you were a hunter lost in a never-ending forest, where random men tried to rape you, and you had to kill them before they could grab you.
No. Seriously.
This shouldn't be about supposed homophobia, but instead about Google's utter lack of quality control on their store.

Yep, and there was also a second version made where the hunter was female and the rape scenes more elaborate. Pretty sure this is just a big set-up for someone to cause a stink, relying on googles lack of close attention to apps they verify.
Bare in mind that I haven't actually played the app myself, but it has the exact same name, and the mention of "shooting gay men" seems weird. If it's not the same game, how do they know they're gay? :V

Why is this a big deal when there is a whole bunch of racist and sexist games as well? Why does it being homophobic make it more offensive than other games in the genres I mentioned? Jeez, people need to get some consistency on what offends them.

Yes, games can have influence on public opinion. Yes, they can serve as propaganda. But seriously, an ex-flash game with primitive graphics and gameplay? I don't think it will even be seen by significant amount of people, unless there's some scandal involved.
I'm much more concerned with modern-day shooters promoting militarism and justifying America's aggressive foreign affairs. These games have multi-million budgets and appeal to much wider audience.

No, of course America has to justify its military adventures. And it has done that. As we speak, Iraqi and Syrian civilians are getting massacred by various different groups and by the Assad regime, Islamic State being the most brutal. Is a massacre not good enough reason to take military action to try preventing it? Of course it is. Almost everyone thinks that IS must be stopped, even most Arab countries agree that IS must go. We could go on and on debating whether the previous Iraq war was justifiable based on what we knew in 2003, but regardless of what you think, America DID get rid of a dictator who hated and killed a lot of his own people simply because they happened to be Kurds or non-Arabs Al-Anfal Campaign. Now, looking at it in hindsight we probably should have left Saddam Hussein in power, as crazy as it sounds, even though he was clearly dangerous and could have easily triggered another war or genocide (but don't tell that to an Iraqi Kurd)

Wait so you are shooting people rather than trying to get some "ass"? Damn this is the most disappointing title to a game since Age of Booty!
I think this product needs a visit from Trading and Standards.

There are many things that offend many people, but one should ask themselves "What would Jebus do in this situation?"
I suspect he would turn the other cheek. ;)

When will people learn the proper use of word "homophobic"? It means you're scared of homosexuality. It's derived from "phobia" which is a very serious issue, people who have phobias can be scared by them to the extent of having a panic attack. Do you really think people who are straight are scared of homosexuals to the point of having panic attacks? Don't answer that, it's a rhetorical question.
Also, I love how gays and lesbians are protected by the society like they're the most hurt part of the society they live in. Anything you say against them is held against you by people who support them and there are many of those jumping on the bandwagon in the name of "freedom" and "progress". Sadly, homosexuality has nothing do to with either.

The reason you hear words like "freedom" and "progress" when someone is talking about homosexuality is because a huge part of society don't want them to have the same rights as everyone else. This is especially true in countries where Sharia Law is practiced, as they aren't even allowed to live according to Islam.

Actually most part of the society do wants them to have the same rights. LGBT is in attack and they demand stuff all the time. 10 years ago they were rather meek and didn't "demand" anything but now as more and more their demands is met by the government and politicians and people also applaud them they're getting more and more persistent, want more and more rights and rub all this in everyone's faces. I didn't mind homosexuals as people back in the day, it's none of my business what they do behind closed doors. But now all this "equality" bullshit, all the demands and parades on which I don't even want to comment rubbed me the wrong way and I'm getting sick of their constant praise of their lifestyle.

exactly, that is why arachnophobia is not a real thing. there is nothing irrational on being scared of a eight-legged spawn of hell that can eat a snake.

Well i'm going to have nightmares now, thank you steamgifts plus for mouse over pictures. Spiders are one of my biggest fears, i freak out like a little girl whenever i see even the smallest spider.

hehe, well I kinda hate when people make threads and never comment on what they made a thread about. It's like walking up to someone on the street asking what they think about some stupid subject and walkin away as soon as you start talking

The word you are looking for is "aberranthropic," not "homophobic."
The fact that the game is put up for sale and that some people are willing to pay for it is a testament to how ready people are to throw away time and money on tripe.

Hi, Generation "I am so offended". Maybe You should think about real problems, like countries where they are REALLY killing homosexual people. Not that You'll do something about it.

A new free game app launched this weekend on Google Play, but we’re not recommending you download it: Ass Hunter, a hunting simulator that allows players to shoot naked gay men with a shotgun.
The game is described by developer “App Day” thusly:
Popular game hunting on gays is now on android! Play and do not be gay!
Legendary game, where you are hunter and your mission is to kill gays as much as you can or escape between them to the next level. Gays may be hidden in bushes and unexpectedly catch you.
Remember! When they catch you they will do with you whatever they want ;)
The game, which appears to have been uploaded by Roman Matrosov, has a 4-star rating (out of 5) and has reportedly been downloaded more than 10,000 times.
In the comment area, several recent visitors indicate they’ve flagged Ass Hunter as offensive.
