Not at all.
First we milk the current generation console gamers.
Then we milk the next generaton console gamers.
Then we milk PC ga... oh fuck, too many discounts... and all these cheap Russian keys!
It's a fact, that console games make more money. Either because console gamers are loyal buyers/supporters or simply too stupid for pirating. One or another way, console games in general have become more profitable than PC games, check the sales numbers for some of them and see it yourself.
Either way a perfect strategy to maximize the profit.
I for one couldn't give less of a fuck how many units a game sells.
Just because 10 mil. people play WoW, doesn't make it the best game in history.

DON'T SPEAK ABOUT WOW LIKE THAT! it's the best game in this universe! GHAWD!

I see what you did there.
And Dota is the best anyway.

Too many die hard "loyal fans" for consoles. like those who say xbox is better then pc XD
All about money, hell, there was a car made during WWII that was a 3 wheel car, broke over 100 MPH and had twice the MPG then any car today.
But everything is for money, like gas, like oil, like entertainment to escape this crap.

I don't own a console so I can't raise judgement on it. I'm just saying that "it must be a good game because of the amount of money spent on it" is a very flawed argument.

It's like big budget movies. They are very often objectively well made productions.
Very good use of a non-absolute. However, I still must disagree. I have no proof, but I do believe that the budget of a movie (over some certain amount. Obviously a fan-made youtube film with $0 budget isn't going to be great) has only loose or perhaps no correlation with how well received a film is.

do you even know what saints row 4 are? when you're comparing it to Gta V that you dont. sure there is an open world and all but you cant compare those games anymore.
btw, i like both games very much. but they're totally different and are aiming for different goals.

You're confusing setting, demographic focus and target market with genre.
For e.g. Bioshock is an FPS same as Crysis, but one is steampunk story driven the other is futuristic cyber. They're both still FPS.
Gta V is honestly way different from IV, I even think they took a lot of tips from the SR series to get back to the fun aspect. Won't spoil if you haven't played but for those who have you know what I'm talking about :D

Don't worry, I don't rely on reviews. For this game in particular, it's just for fun, it's like reading a love letter from a Bieber's groupie :D "OMG ! My life has changed since I play this game, it brought back my gf, my pen*s is much bigger, it even cured my cancer !"

Yeah, they are biased as f**k in most cases.
I will wait for Yathzee's review before renting it...

Lots of things with big budgets have been mediocre or terrible.

PC with steam workshop would be the bes version imo.

I also thought about adding workshop, but I don't think that it could work.. the game stores files in .img files (at least I'm 90% sure about that since GTA IV and Max Payne 3 did the same with the same engine) and you must overwrite the files within them to make mods work..

800 millions ? Not a cent from me untill they dont release it to PC ! I'm not a console addict.

How is being a console addict got to do with anything? I barely play console, yet, I am not someone who feels like they're entitled to everything(like most of these PC Gamers) and won't play console just for a point, that's just stupid. If I like it, I will be play, regardless what platform.
Anyway, I've completed the game and enjoyed it, while all the "hardcore PC gamer / console haters" have to wait a year to play it, just because they "HAVE TO" play it on PC.
I guess it's something I will never understand.

Quck look back at the GTA4 release.
GTA 4 PC Debut
Second week
That's a debut at #7, behind a Sims 2 expansion. Gone from the top10 the week after.

That doesn't mean they won't release GTA V on PC.. they already earned more then what they spent on the game, so why not get some more money with a PC version?

And it still hasn't been released in Japan or Brazil. It just smashed the previous record held by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 ($500 mil) for fastest selling entertainment product, but the game did reportedly cost $265 mil, making it the most expensive game ever made.
What do you guys think? Does it deserve such success and do you agree with IGN's GTA V reviewer Keza MacDonald
calling it "one of the very best video games ever made." Or do you think it's a too overhyped?
