Yes, because your "explanation" does not actually explain anything. If the Steam summer sale last year was exactly the same but each day, or even each week, it featured one game that was an especially low price for a select group of people, Steam would likely have gotten MORE sales, not less. They would have made their regular sales, plus gotten some impulse buys from the select group.

It might create some unhappiness in the user base, but hopefully most of the users would not be such entitled pricks and realize that this kind of situation is present in the offline world, and even in other online shops. People that spend more money and associate themselves with specific brands often get discounts or other special offers that casual consumers do not get.

You know it's not going to happen? Obviously this was a joke post, but we have no idea that something similar won't happen. In fact it seems like quite a reasonable move.

There is no point in sharing your opinion if you are not going to back it up with reasoning. Otherwise your only appeal is to ethos, of which you have none. Thus, stating an opinion, especially a very extreme opinion, is pointless.
