Hello guys and gals,

I am excited to finally present you the first issue of SGM Monthly!

Our Group worked on it for the past month, and now it is finally here for the SG community to enjoy.

Please click on this for the "Magazine Experience". The recommended method to discover and flip through the magazine's pages! I highly recommend using your headphones while going through the magazine, as the sound effect of flipping the page is really wholesome. Also, keep in mind, for easier navigation use "Control" + scroll wheel to easily zoom in and out on the pages. You can also hold left click to drag around the page. It just makes it easier and more satisfying to read this way :)

I will add a simple PDF version with a much higher quality of the page, but that version will be available tomorrow.

Please consider voting for the review that you've enjoyed the most. The winner will be decided on 15th of March.

Feel free to comment below on the current issue. we're looking forward to your feedback!
For group requests or suggestions, comment in the Central Hub.

edit: The PDF version is available for download here. This version can be printed and it's full HD quality, compared to the magazine version.

Wow! Great effort, I love how the design and layout of each page turned out. Loved the Noita and Backbone reviews especially. Gonna check out the others later

One feedback - the Signalis and Death's Door fonts are hard for me to read.

In a similar vein, wanted to note here that some font colors on the Playlist section are hard to read against the background, at least IMO.

it has been pointed out to me much too late that colors differ between screens. The red in the signalis review shouldn't be SO bright

The font is also weird, and difficult to read by itself (especially in the headlines)

It truly is different for each screen. The SGM Playlist for example seems perfectly fine to me, but others said they cannot read some lines of text because of the colors.

Congratulations to everyone that contributed. I am going to start reading right now

Edit: WoW. Congratulations again. I just finished reading. The layout of the pages is EXCELLENT. I love how they are related to the games they show.

And I loved all the reviews too. I could have voted for four or five different reviews that I loved, but I had to pick up only one.

After the paper gaming magazines ended, I had never read a gaming magazine again (and the gaming journos attitudes actively pushed me from reading reviews in most websites). So reading these reviews was a lot of fun. And I loved all the little details. The skeleton dialogue was a lot of fun.

Good job, people!

Thank you! Glad you like it.

Nostalgia was the main factor when I came up with the idea for it :)

Yeah, I saw the idea topic a while back but I'll be honest and say I didn't expect much from it 😝, but it has become way beyond any fantasy I could've come up with 👏

Awesome job, congratulations to everyone involved! An extra thank you to the editors that were able to reduce my 27-page messy review into something concise without losing anything important in the process. I appreciate all of you.

Seeing the final result and the other reviews also help me to calibrate how to do a next one - this is great.

EDIT - Is there an option to see one page at a time in the platform used to host the mag? I looked quickly but could not find it. I am reading on a 15'' laptop and some of the screenshots are really small when two pages are displayed at once

Hello fernandopa!

Thanks for your kind words and for your overall support, including writing that painfully long, but good, review! :D

I will add a PDF version, with a much higher quality. Unfortunately it won't have the flashy effects. Meanwhile, you can try zooming in on the pages. Just hold "Ctrl" + mouse scroll wheel to zoom in and out easily.

Yup, that's what I ended up doing and it works pretty well. Between zooming in and full-screening the tab, it's a breeze to read. Loving every review :)

Something else I noticed - there is a part of the Necromunda review that repeats across 2 pages (unless I'm going crazy), the one which starts with "While the game tries to cram ..." is both on Page 45 and 47

No, you're not going crazy. It's my bad. Rushed editing.

I'll fix it and update it to the last version.

Thanks for pointing it out!

Great work, much better than I expected when I saw the initial post about the project tbh ;)
As others have mentioned, the image/font colours were sometimes a little difficult on the eye. The reviews with solid colours behind the text rather than images were much easier to read. I like the idea of having different font colours and styles throughout the magazine but personally would prefer solid colour behind the text for readability.

Thank you for the kind words and I am glad we managed to surpass expectations!

I'll be more careful with font/color combos next time!
