according to the formatting page "indent four spaces" and then do the <?php above, ?> below - didn't see the ` mentioned anywhere, only saw it in your given example... what's weird is i did the four spaces before both the < > lines but only the first got blue'd

To display an entire line as code, indent with 4 spaces. For a paragraph, wrap using ```

As cbones said, you don't use php at all. Basically, insert three of these ` on the same line over and under you text. Using only one before and after the text will do it differently (it won't give you the blue box).

I've noticed a rising amount of negative posts and threads lately on SG. From sad and gloomy topics to rants and angry posts, it just makes me feel slightly depressed.
To counter the negativity, I created this 100% positive thread! The one rule of this thread - think and post positively!
