Little celebratory bump for the memorial train reaching its 2,000th cart! π₯³ Thanks to everyone that's helped get us this far and shoutout to Swordoffury for the big push to 2K!
The first time we crossed a 1K milestone, the train schedule got too big to continue expanding. I'll keep an eye on it and I'll make a Part 3 for the schedule if needed! Here's to 3K to celebrate life and gaming! π»

This tribute still moves me to this day that so many people were moved by icaio. I would like to believe he could be out there in the universe smiling at what has unfolded so far. SG (and everyone that participates in this hive) has changed me in so many ways, I surprises myself as I reflect.

just came back to SG yesterday after almost 2 years away. so sorry to hear about icaio's passing :'(
i haven't really made any close friends or even acquaintances from this site, but i knew him from his many (many, many, MANY) giveaways and the whimsicality in every post he made. it was hard not to see his generosity and sparkling personality that would always lift my spirits.
i'm sure it's been said already but the community won't be the same without him. in his memory i will try to carry his torch, and to start i'll see if i can dig up some appropriate games for this train.
thanks for being part of our lives, pal. even if it was in a small way, i hope you knew how much of a positive effect you had on us π (blue whitelist heart forever)

I'd been meaning to contribute to this train ever since it started, just never got around to it until the other day. I don't recall ever having much interaction with icaio (aside from winning one of his giveaways) but I entered many of his giveaways and read many of his comments. I am grateful for the comments that others have shared about him allowing me to get an even greater picture of the positive influence that he had and the kindness that he shared, an example from which one can learn plenty.
Time flies, hold your loved ones close. π

Hey all. I am going to start by saying that I do not have any more information than what I am sharing in this post.
EDIT: as it turns out, I do have some more information
ANOTHER EDIT, just a quick update
As some of you know, icaio has not been on SG for a while, and he hasn't logged into his Steam profile either.
I posted on his Steam profile a few weeks ago, just a quick note saying I hoped he was okay.
Yesterday I received a friend request on Steam from someone I did not recognize. I didn't see any obvious red flags, so I accepted.
This new friend sent me a message today, saying that they were icaio's cousin, and they saw my post on his profile and wanted to let me know that icaio passed away on September 30.

I don't think it's a stretch to say that icaio was an absolute legend of Steamgifts. His generosity, sense of humor and thoughtfulness came through in every 'showerthinking' post and every 'trash' game giveaway and every time he helped to solve a derailment in the community train.
Before I visited Rome a few years ago, caio volunteered to give me his mobile number so I could ask him real-time questions while I was in Italy. And that's exactly what I did! So we didn't quite get a chance to actually meet in person, but it was fun to chat with him while we were in the same country.
Not much more to say right now. Just R.I.P. to icaio, he will always be a Steamgifts legend.
