Hello and welcome to the madness!
The challenge is simple: Play and beat any 6 games, starting today, that have been featured in any given Humble Monthly/Choice bundle in one month.

The prize: 2x The Alters
Note: This means I'm giving away two copies of the game and will have 2 winners.

Game length does not matter and I'm not looking for 100% achievement runs. So long as you play and beat 6 games, I'm happy. You can go easy mode and play a bunch of 1h games or go crazy and play 6 +30h games. So long as they were in a monthly at a given point, it is all good.

Just post a comment with either screenshots/ achievements showing that you fulfilled the criteria and I'll add you on Steam and give you the link. Feel free to share your thoughts on the games you've played, but it is not required.

FAQ:

Why you doing this?

I hate money. That and I realized I've been subbed to the monthly for over nine years (yes it has been that long, I checked) and it occurred to me that I've barely touched the games I've gotten from it, let alone played them. Figured the same would be true for a few others, so I figured this is a good way to change that. A sensible person would probably unsub in this situation, but please refer to the beginning as to why that will not happen.

I've played the first X minutes of a game, can I pick it for the event?

No. You cannot have any play time or achievements prior to the start of the event. The only exception is idle time from farming Steam cards.

Can I play a MP only game?

No. It needs to have an "end" in order for me to count it as beaten, so it needs to have a campaign/story mode.

If a game was sold as a non-Steam copy in a bundle (origin/uplay/drm-free/etc), can I pick it as a choice if I own a Steam copy?

No. The reason being that those who own a Steam copy would have an extra option that would not be available to everyone who bought the same bundle. If the game was originally sold as a non-Steam copy, but Humble later provided steam keys to everyone who bought the bundle, then the game would be allowed.

Why six games?

The first few monthlies had 6/7 games in them so I went with that.

How long are you going to do this?

Until my credit card statements gives me nightmares.

This event "ends" on September 2nd when the next next HB Choice releases, though the giveaway itself will end the day after. If you manage to finish game number six in between that time, feel free to post, but know that I cannot guarantee that I'll be able to give you the link in time.

Good luck, have fun and stay safe.
Thanks for reading, and safe travels.

Been a while but let's try for this month. Got hard walled by one of the bosses in Shining Resonance Refrain (tried half a dozen times including grinding a few extra levels to no avail) so shifting to a recent win, The Pale Beyond.

Totally forgot I wasn't done with the monthly play! So then I played a couple of games to finish... and I realized I only needed one lol
I should have kept Hello Neighbor: Hide and Seek for next month. Oh well, it was fun. It's not a waste.

I started with Dredge and oh boy I wasn't expecting it to be a horror game! I played the demo and it was like a cool little fishing game. What the hell happened? 🤣
I enjoyed it though. I spent way too much time enjoying the fishing so I didn't finish the story for a while but I'll definitely grab the DLC and play it again.

The Lil Gator Game was all kinds of cute. I had seen it compared to A Short Hike a lot and while I can see where that's coming from, it's kinda unfair to compare the two because Lil Gator stands on its own two feet and really managed to achieve something unique with a cool kid-friendly narrative that's a little on the bittersweet side. I can't wait to play the N+ with my nephew.

Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip was pretty much what I expected: a lot of crazy fun. It was more of a collectathon than I thought it'd be but the game did make it easy (like Lil Gator did) to find what you needed so I ended up going for completion because it was too addictive not to.

Venba was a little disappointing. I had loved the demo but I felt the game fell a little short on both the narrative and the cooking side. Maybe I just had unreasonably high expectations because it was a cooking game taking place in Toronto and the whole South Indian cuisine resonated so much with me. It wasn't a bad game by any means but it was just too short to achieve all it could have achieved. Still recommend it though.

I picked Sticky Business because I wanted something chill and creative to go with a side of story but I felt the storytelling was a little shallow. I did enjoy the creative aspect but I almost gave up on the game because the "stories" were progressing so slow. By the end it felt like a grind and I was not even trying to do anything with the stickers. Maybe there was a way to get the stories progressing faster or maybe I just got the fuzzy end of the RNG lollipop but I couldn't wait for it to end after 15 hours. I won't be buying the DLC. So long 100%

Kill it with Fire was short and sweet. It was very original although nothing to write home about really. The style and cartoonish horror humor put it over the top of the usual FPS fare though.
