I was really happy when I first heard it was coming to PC, especially with all DLC included. I played quite a bit of it on PS3, but then traded away my copy with the intention of re-purchasing it later, but I never did. Some of the stock anime character-types are present, which I wasn't crazy about, but the gameplay is fun and requires some good tactics. Plus, while its technically turn-based, there's a lot of real-time actions that you can control, so its not just a matter of RNG luck.

Wolfenstein The New Order must be the game I enjoyed the most this year thus far. I would actually say it is one of the best FPS's I have played in the last 3 years. The overall experience was excellent. It had a nice story and solid gameplay.

Yeah they don't make games like they used too, nice to know that it has a good story :)

Yet to play it because of it's episodic format, is it long?

Overture, pretty hectic.
Muri, nostalgic and cool.
Mirror's Edge, PARKOUR!
CS:GO, I'm not sure why I like it, because the only thing that I can do is die.
Tales of Maj'Eyal, Skyrim in 2D.
Bad Rats. Not.

Can't say I was ever a fan :'( back on xbox360 I played dark souls, didn't have online for it at the time so eventually I downloaded a hacked gamesave, infinite health and best weapons in game, I still got destroyed and died horribly everytime :'(

I'm playing Shadow Warrior right now. I haven't played any story-driven single players games for years now. Hell, I wouldn't even consider myself a gamer. All I played lately were arcade and multiplayer games but this game brought me back on track! Now I'm playing a few hours each day and can't wait to fight the backlog!

I've heard these too games where only fun playing with friends, are these baseless rumors?

Honestly I don't think I'd last 5 minutes in this game lol

I loved the first one, didn't get to play the second one yet, but I'm sure it's good :) JRPG wise Tales of Zestiria is coming to PC, if you pre-order it you'll get Tales of Symphonia when it get's ported to PC also :) I know that's only if it get's the 3rd and final tier of pre-order but seen as it's a 'Tales Of' game I'm sure it won't have a problem :)

-Well I played a bit of Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare on the PS4. It was free last year for one day so i gave it shot. I thought it'd be really bad but turns out it's really fun. i don't play it much cuz i'm not into multiplayer that much, but it's available for PC.
-I also re-played Duke Nukem 3D recently and it remains as fun as ever. Only now it gives me headaches for some reason. And it has multiplayer now, though i haven't tried it, so that'dkeep you entertained for a bit longer.

Thomas was Alone caught me by surprise. I expected to be a generic platformer but the simplicity, story, narration and specially the music just blew me away.
Another one would be Borderlands 2 which I am currently playing. Way better than the 1st, IMO. And I really enjoy TIny Tina's banter. :P

Skyrim is still my #1. Put nearly 200 hours in it and still far from done.
Talos principle is the best recent game I played. Best puzzle ever (or maybe on par with Portal) and it's such a philosophical bomb about humanity, purpose of life, evolution, ...
I came back to Shadow Warrior, it's such well made first person shooter (more like 'slasher' though), very brutal and with funny lead characters.
Tomb Raider 2013 - best Lara Croft ever made. Enough said.

I started PAYDAY 2 this april and, well, I'm glad I did. It's replayability is super high. Some people criticize the overbearing amounts of DLC and I basically disagree. A non-DLC person can get just as far as a DLC person, and DLC adds to the fun of the game but not owning any DLC doesn't take away any fun. It just adds guns (not necessarily better guns), masks, achievements, and an extra heist here or there. And besides, it gets super cheap during sales.
Also, it's not really a "game", but if you want to pass some time, teach yourself how to code.
EDIT: OH AND
Terraria recently released their highly anticipated and quite huge 1.3 update. The game has gotten better than ever. If you've never tried it, think of Minecraft as your hot stepsister and Terraria as your hot cousin

Total War: Attila. Decent for the genre, although it is riddled with dlc that should have been part of the full release. Playing in coop makes the game more fun ofcourse.
Project Zomboid. It is fun for the first few hours. However playing this alone would get pretty boring pretty fast as the game lacks a lot of content and immersion to keep you interested. Another game to play in coop to have more fun.
Sunless Sea. Fun indie game for that story&lore rich survival exploration game. This game is tough and challenging. Although not always in "fun" or fair ways.
Those are the 3 recent ones that I've played and had fun with.

Planetship. It's a weird colorful game with a sense of humor I love.

I would say Narcissu 1st & 2nd, its a visual novel. I think it has amazing story, you should definitely play it if you are into visual novels. Plus its free on steam. Also Alien Isolation but just a few hours,my PC overheats when I am playing it. I'll play it when I upgrade my PC...in a few months I hope so :) Its has very interesting story, great gameplay and very amazing graphics :)
EDIT: True, its not really "fun"...its a horror game ffs...but you should play it :)

Basically I'm looking to see what games you/ye have played this year that you/ye found fun and why :) Even more basic - I'm bored.
Now the game that you will be talking about doesn't have to have came out this year & I would prefer if you talked about something that is available on PC (But I'll let you off if you mention more than one and at least one is on PC). I would also like to know if the game stops being fun after a short period of time - long.
PS: Not interested in MMO's as they are mostly based on the people you play with for proper enjoyment.
tl:dr - Press the 'X' image at the top right, red circle on a MAC & have a good day :)
