Welcome back! Sucks you got hacked but at least you got it all figured out. Sounds like you have a great son too. Good luck.

This just happened to my daughter. I spent hours last weekend getting ahead of the hackers. Looks like we're in control of everything again, but what a nightmare. People do indeed suck.
Glad that you got your stuff back. And yes, you should be running 2FA for Steam, especially if your account is valuable. It's kind of a pain in the neck, but it's worth it. It's prevented people trying to hijack my account more than once.

Welcome back, wigglenose!
Getting hacked sucks big time, happened to me too a long time ago when I was a teenager - that Steam account also got VAC ban before I could recover it due to cheating so I had to create a new one.
I think having 2FA on email accounts, Steam and all other important stuff is a must nowadays. I'd recommend getting a simple phone that can at least support Steam and 2FA apps, that would make your accounts much more secure and save you some nerves going forward.

When I saw that your account was compromised I brought it up to the team to see if locking it was fine and Delta ended up locking it for you. I'm glad to see that you got your account back finally. Unfortunately there are just really shitty people out there that do this type of thing. If you value your Steam account using 2FA is really important.

Welcome back☕🤗
I was just talking about you a little while ago.

Not limited to SG, anyone can be deceived even if they are careful when using services related to Steam accounts, so it seems that two-factor authentication is now a minimum requirement.
(However, even two-factor authentication is not completely foolproof, so it seems necessary to keep receipts and payment logs to some extent...)
Lately, there have been people spreading phishing links and malware using Bitcoin or adult content, as well as QR codes and profile images to steal accounts on Steam.
Everyone here needs to be vigilant against these threats. It's a tough time, isn't it?😢

As some might have seen or others might not care (or know who I am)
I was banned for just around 1 - 2 months and I think some of you wondered what happened so I'll explain:
I had a hacker on my e-mail account - well one of them I used for business things but the dumb thing was that the password (and stupidly the e-mail address as well) was one I used in many places including Steam
I saw them delete about 20k of e-mails form maybe 10 + years (I don't clean folders very much) in real time and got sent the usual threats and told my local tech guy what had happened and he helped me a lot as did my son
I had someone claim they had videos or photos of me which made me laugh because I hardly have any photos of myself in private - they then asked for some money about £50 in Crypto of course - which I did not send them
After time I got most of my accounts back - the important ones anyway - Spotify, Twitter, Twitch, etc.. Made a new gmail for business things that only really gets sent to people who need to know
But couldn't get Steam back as they had put a app that I didn't have for 2fa on it - my phone is a basic one that I only really need in emergencies - no apps or games etc... but I like it being simple
But the other day my son managed with the help of the staff at Steam/valve who helped us no end first lock the account and then confirm it was my account - so I have it back
I would like to thank the mods who acted so fast to protect the site and other people from my hacker who for a few days (no doubt when he thought he could still get the money/coins money from me) he sent some messages and links no doubt to try and get their accounts as well - I don't know what kind of messages - but I hope no one got hacked because of it - if they targeted you then I am truly sorry
I am back - if I go again you know why - but hopefully I am here for the long time again and I would like to say thanks once more
Update: Thank you - to all the people who were concerned about me and my account - I will try to add a nice giveaway here over the weekend to say proper thanks - it is super nice to see how many people actually like having me around (I hop and not just for my giveaways) but as a weird online person they sort of know
