I don't recall seeing this thread around here and I think it's a pretty cool one. You can either recommend someone a game or advise someone not to waste one's time on it. I'll start.

Mark Of The Ninja - A very good stealth-action game. It's like Splinter Cell but in 2D. Although I admit there were times when I was a little bit bored. Overall it's a very good game. Solid 8/10.

Here's a collage of all games I've beaten over the years on PC:

The sad story of Emmeline Burns.

I'm still working on AC4: Black Flag, but wanted something cute and fun inbetween. :-)

Tales from the Borderlands - so far the most enjoyable game from TellTale I've played :>

Hmm may have to try this soon then. Heard great things about it but haven't got round to it yet.
Would you say it's better than wolf among us and walking dead?

for me it was, but it depends heavilly what you expect from the story. The story itself and the form it was presented in was imho better, but at the other hand it's different kind of story - it's mostly sarcastic dark comedy, which is hard to compare to crime-drama (WAU) or survival story with horros elements (TWD). TWD was more touching simply because it was talking about more serious subjects, while TftB story was imho better and better presented, but at the same time much lighter.

Ok yeah that does seem very different to the two. For me so far my favourite telltale game by far has been The wolf among us. It would be interesting to see whether this game could beat it.

I did enjoy Wolf, but for me it was very uneven (like most of TT games sadly, some episodes are great and some feels rushed), especially Episode 2 was a joke, it was as long as 1 chapter of longer episodes. Tales for me was the first time I did love each and every episode :>

Yep I get you mean about. There's usually a few episodes that let me down. But overall wolf among us was way better than TWD for me.

It's really hard for me to compre Wolf to TWD - it was surelly better than TWD2, but TWD1 - was my first TellTale game and generally first choice-that-matters type of game I played (aka game focusing solely on story and chices, I played bunch of RPGs where your choices shaped your story, but choices themselves weren't main game focus) and it left a big mark on me. Objectively looking at it it's probably much weaker than Wolf, but as it was my first for me it was much more important experience :>

Yeah at the time of playing the TWD I found it incredible. Especially the ending which hit me so much. But TWD2 was a bit of a let down for me. I didn't feel clementine was very strong as a main character and I didn't like the other characters anywhere near as much either. Don't get me wrong it was still good, but nothing compared to the first. That being said I have bought the new walking dead that just came out so we'll see if that compares.

I think it was just the overall atmosphere that I liked about WOU. And then the detective style story. I've always loved detective games and tv shows and such so this really appealed to me. Maybe the overall story wasn't as good as TWD but the premise of the story is what probably made it better for me.

ohh, but forgot to mention the most importsnt thing before you jumo into it - did you play Borderlands? It's not required like you won't be able to play without knowing BL franchise, but a lot of Tales' charm for me came from absolutelly crazy amount of inside jokes, easter eggs, references etc :>

Well, I just won my first XCOM 2 campaign. Won't spoil the plot, but I'll say that the final mission is a proper holy shit moment rather than the letdown it was in Enemy Unknown

Rise of the Tomb Raider, SOMA befor that, and Dying Light before that one. All in about 6 weeks.
I'm proud of myself, I'm terrible at finishing games.
I dont care about the achievements though. They are cool but I'm not hunting for them.

Dishonored. high chaos, emily died ending Really the part of the game I liked the most was the setting (I think the whaling era is neat, so seeing a game inspired by that time period was a treat) and mark twain samuel beechworth. it broke my heart when i got to the ending level and samuel sounded so disappointed in me for killing so many people. also that i froze up and in doing so let emily die, kids dying is not a thing i take easily. will probably play through it again and go for the other ending.

Papers, Please - Just finished first playthrough plus few replays along the way to unlock extra stuff, will surely play for another ending as well. All in all it was very good - great showing how the simplest iddea and UI can turn into great game if they are original and well-thought. Still I believe the game was slightly overhyped. People saying how it was the best indie game of the last years - it was good, very good, thought-provoking, a little emotional - but for me there's been better, more emotional and more thought-provoking indies in recent years. It is good, but surely not the best.

Big Fish Legend - Pretty good platform game with nice graphics and fun gameplay. It's just too damn easy. 7/10

PS: I also unlocked all achievements in it.

The Travels Of Marco Polo - Very average casual adventure game with a few hidden object scenes. It's short and easy most of the time and it has horrible FPS drops (at least I had this issue) but it wasn't horrible. Could have been a lot better though. 5/10

Drawn: The Painted Tower - Very good casual adventure game. It has great atmosphere, nice backgrounds, very good gameplay and epic music. I only wish it was longer because it's very short. 8/10

PS: I also unlocked all achievements in it.

9 Clues 2: The Ward - Even better than the first one. It's a very good hidden object adventure game. Recommended. 8/10

PS: I also unlocked all achievements in it.

Really?, i liked it, back then i though there was alot of work put into it, no just the camera but how it draws your attention to the right direction everytime.
That is, until the later levels, then it becomes frustrating

Volchaos
Terrible, with some nasty controls for a platformer. There isn't much to say, you are on a timer trying to reach the goal before the lava gets to you, levels are short and easy if you have no intentions of collecting.

Home is where one starts
dunno what to say, despite the small size, it's a beautiful world to explore, at the same time there is barely any narrative holding things together.
Story is generic, girl is remembering a moment in her life father was depressed after the death of his wife, turns into an alcoholic but it barely adds anything to the storyline beyond that
one of the achievement requires me to stand still for 3 minutes
3/10

Blade Kitten (base game)
I refuse to call this an episode, its a bit too long and it will lack an episodic structure, that is if they even release more than 2 episodes
anyway, the game is quite decent, there's a good mix of exploration and platforming, and combat is solid too. it only gets frustrating when you need to do some precise jumping and controls are plotting against you, there's also some glitching when i'm trying to grab walls
There's some cute cheesy dialogue as well.
6/10

The beginners guide: Incredible game by the creators of the stanley parable telling the story in a beautifully unique way. Had me hooked throughout but was also rather short. 9/10

Toby: The Secret Mine: Not a great platformer. Slow movement, awkward jumping and trial and error based gameplay made it an infuriating experience. 4/10

Pneuma: Breath of Life: Great puzzle game. Voice over track felt unneeded and often got annoying. The only time it felt worth was right at the end of the game. Also not greatly optimized. But the interesting and creative puzzles were very enjoyable. 7/10

The Room: Fantastic puzzle game. Really creatively inspired puzzles that are just the right amount of difficulty. Always left me curious but never got me confused for too long. Very nice graphics as well. 8/10

Dungelot: Shattered Lands - very enjoyable indie puzzle game :> I used to play a lot of some old alpha build i got in some free bundle DRM free, it featured only endless mode back them - now we get nem mechanics (Mansion, Shrine, Armory), multiple dungeons, quests so it was even better ;) The game is combination of mine-sweeper with dungeon crawler, equipment management and loads of skills and strategies possible with all 4 heroes :) Awesome timewaster! :>

Victor Vran - it was fine, but compared to it's obvious competition (The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing - same genre, very similar setting of Demon Hunter in steampunk world) it fell short. Combat mechanics and skills are great and I loved them. There's also some new ideas making game more skillfull than your average other aRPG, but the story was very weak and very badly presented and some complex loot system and some stat system would help the game a lot. On the upside - there is crazy amount of additional optional stuff. Only like 1/4th of the locations are mandatory for story (plus each location comes with set of challenges and secrets) so there's a lot to do besides story itself. But with very basic loot system there is no real motivation to do so, from like 1/3 of the game I basically ignored most of the optional locations because there was no reason to do them or to max challenges.

And another one :D:
Grow Home - Cute little indie, relatively short, but with very well put together game mechanics - proving that physics sims doesn'rt have to be silly "games" like GoatSim or BreadSim and can be used for really quality gameplay. Playthrough is quite short - took me 2+ hours, then we get "EndGame" where we're supposed to find 8 hidden items scattered around the world and deliver them by hand to the top of the map - that seemed too much for me personally. It was fun for 2-3h, but I was already growing tired of the mechanics (even if they are awesome there's nothing to this game besides them and finding secrets, collecting everything) so investing 6+ more hours would be too much - I prefer to let it as it is as fun yet short experience :>

Verde Station, here's my review (which isn't very descriptive because spoilers):

In this "aventure space walk simulator" you find yourself in the shoes of a man who volunteers to test a space station, which you have to supervise and mantain, all the while you try to keep your s**t together.

Although I wish it was longer (it took me about 1.5 hours to beat the game playing very thoroughly) I can't actually complain about that at, all of the contrary, it is so good because it takes just the time it needs to tell it's story and doesn't turn into a tedious clicking routine, you just flow with the game and it leaves you craving for more.

If you see this on sale, buy it, you were blessed by the Steam gods and got a coupon for it? buy it, even on full price you should buy it and support the one man that made Verde Station possible, this is a true masterpiece.

oh my, I'm on a roll! :D:
Drawn™: Dark Flight
Short but fun puzzle adventure with stunning artstyle, but sadly falls a little short on the story.
First of all - artstyle, drawings, little puzzles with children-book artstyle - these are all stunning and beautiful! Loved the atmosphere it created.
Puzzles are not too hard, but very varied so not boring. They won't give much challenge to veterans, but at the other hand it makes game accessible to genre newbies.
Only bad thing I found about this game is that while it's story idea seems very intresting we're getting almost no backstory until almost the end of the game when we no longer care that much. Story has potential but should be developed through whoe game, not only in last 30 minutes.
Anyway - it's still worth a try! :>
