Summer sale put a dent in people's wallets. A lot of the gifting last few weeks likely been items purchased during the sale, and they're drying up. Only natural it slow down really, going for nearly everything being at least 33 percent off to full price.

There isnt really a point in purchasing games on steam while they arent on sale, since they will be 33 to 75% off every 4-6 months or so. The site will pretty much be almost dead until the next sale event (halloween? christmas? idk), plus the registrations have been closed so no more valve pack leftovers and stuff like that

You can help shake the stagnation by creating a few giveaways :)

I think the issue is that the leecher to seeder rate is too high. So (casual) seeders aren't really interested in giving away games in case it just gets won by someone who will never contribute to the site.

Giveaways are heavily influenced by inside and outside forces.

• Inside forces like, scammers, leachers, d-bags, people not actively mingling with the rest of the community

• Outside forces like, steam sales (xmas and summer are the big ones), Daily Deals (greater when it's a beloved game on sale or a funny one like pony pony ponies), New Releases, and of course actually having money to give away.

I think it has something to do with the fact that the registration has been disabled. Most often when someone registered he would have opened up a new giveaway.

This is just my opinion!

I think people need to put more cheap games. They are easier to put also they create lots of activity because people can enter those giveaways easier than 50$ giveaways.

It was about this slow for a few days before the Summer Sale started. I expect it to be this slow until the next major sale. I think we'll mostly see:

1) Good daily deals

2) New member giveaways

3) GLaPOS

I certainly hope this site doesn't turn into a flood of HIB3 giveaways
