Especially because it's almost impossible to play without micro-transactions you will waste a lot of time on it and rage really bad.

It's the main reason I originally deleted it, but I think for a plane ride it may well work (or i'll just download the first, too)

1st: He asked for games.
2nd: Is it fun to jump on the bandwagon now and read stuff that came out ages ago just because it's popular?

I have it on my kindle, but the kindle is broken and I have to send it in for repairs (to amazon UK)

I haven't played it, but AVP: Evolution is free to download today. Apparently now requires iOS7, though.

Yeah, I use iOS6 because i only have a 4S and everyone ive spoken to with one, wishes they didnt upgrade.

At some point I'll probably have to "upgrade". Hopefully most of the issues will have been resolved by then. But not sure they can fix ugly. For the time being, I locked in the license via iTunes.

Maybe, but I updated mu 3GS to ios4 and it became unusable, so i'll put it off as long as possible

Maximus is a nice hack 'n' slash that is sometimes free.

1.) sit in front of elderly woman
2.) play porn video
3.) resist the urge to laugh
It's a game in itself!

Yeah, because making the elderly uncomfortable is so much fun. :/

Yeah, i do like their games, but I suck at them (inc GDS)
Comment has been collapsed.
I like them both. I prefer ones I can take my time on though.

Are you taking a trip to Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch?

No, but I have been there. It's a nice little Welsh town.

I never tried GTA, I always thought the control scheme would be shit

I hate using a touch screen for any game that requires the simulation of thumbsticks, I rage quit a lot trying to play shooter type games. But I did eventually get used to it for GTA, the controls seem retarded at first but once you get used to it.. well, it couldn't be laid out any better than it is, lets just put it that way. :P

This being said you should have plenty of movies and a few games during your flight, and there is no lack of excellent books to take with you as well.
You should also be able to recharge your battery.

There are likely to be movies - i'm flying American Airlines. However, I'm 6'6" tall and cannot easily see the screens in the back of the chairs, thus why I need my own entertainment. Last I flew, there were no USB or plug socket available on board unless flying business class.

It all depends on whether your plane allows you to recharge your phone. If not, sorry, no 3d games.

I play a buttload of puzzle games, especially Bejeweled (none of this candy crush crap here, no sir) Sudoku, Mahjong, word searches, crosswords, card games like Solitaire etc. You can waste a lot of time playing those. There's a little free puzzle game called Dots that I find pretty addicting.
There's a free game called The Blockheads that I got completely addicted to for like two weeks straight, it looks like Minecraft and Terraria had a shitty clone baby but it's actually really fun. I played on an iPad though, it is available for iPhone but I'm not sure how well it would work since you can only see a smaller portion of your screen at a time.
Other games I suggest:
Mole Kart (free) - basically a Mario Kart Wii clone with similar power ups
Battle Cats (free) - tower defensy kinda thing where you generate money with which you buy cats to battle the opponent's cats while you both defend a tower
Poker Night at the Inventory 2 - self explanatory, but I spend hours on the couch playing this, good time waster
Nimble Quest (free) - really addicting snake adaptation where you build a chain of heroes and battle enemies on a field with power ups etc
Warp Rush (free) - use the gyro to move, collect triangle thingies and drop them off on special ramps to get points while avoiding obstacles

On Wednesday I fly from Mexico to England (via Dallas) and I hate long flights. I have saved Youtube videos and other media to my iPhone but I'm thinking I need more games.
So do you know of any good (but not too big, so not XCom) games that take up a lot of time, but not an awful lot off battery life?
