That's the problem on Steam's end, and it's a known issue. It will remain there until 2 weeks after you last played it.

I'm sure, it comes up from time to time when there are free weekends.

Wasn't there some kind of trick to fix it? Like adding a game to the library or something? (can't remember right now).

Not that I know of.
EDIT: I searched a bit and this post came up. I'm doubtful whether this works, but it won't hurt to try.

I found a thread where I read about it I think: http://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/uJF5d/sync-account-free-weekend-games-solved#2sK0kHk
Never had the need to do it myselft though.

Well I tried adding a new group.
And this didn't help. Still being reported as that I own the game.

I added a bundle game I had lying around and now it shows up as not owned, so I can enter GA's.

I added an game, and this immediate solved the problem.
Apparently Steam API only updates when a game is added.

No, I tried that first (see 5 comments up). And that didn't solve the problem.
The info in the Steam API was only updated when adding a game to it.

Weird, the issue I found was that my profile was switched to private and it must be shown as public for the next resync, this is the first time I hear that having a game on one of Steam's free to play weekends counted as having it in your library for SGv2.

It was the same for SGv1, too. If Steam think you own it, then SG thinks you own it.
