This is Zoologischer Garten Station.
You can transfer to U9, S5 and S7.

This is the U2 line toward Pankow. The Next Station is Wittenbergplatz heading toward Pankow Station.
This is the U2 line toward Ruhleben. The Next Station is Ernst-Reuter-Platz heading toward Ruhleben Station.

Zoologischer Garten was an important station for me. It provided transfers to other lines quickly from the U2. From there I could jump on various different S-Bahns going in different directions. Aside from that, Zoo also had a market that carried things we couldn't find from other sources. HIT Ullrich! They had all kinds of random things that no other store would carry and it wasn't too badly priced either. If we wanted to make certain foods, we were nearly sure we could get the ingredients there. Further, there was an ice cream shop there that I would take people to when they came to visit from out of the country. They were always impressed with it.

The entrance to the Zoo proper is also here. There I got to pet a Rhinoceros. He put his head across the barrier and I was scratching his nose which seemed to make him very happy. That was strange and cool all at the same time. There was also a Lion that surprised me the first time I heard him. He was VERY loud. He also wasn't pleased with being gawked at and would let us all know. Over and over. I really hadn't known how loud they were until then.

Oh, there was one other important thing here. There was a store in the U-Bahn station that sold Mountain Dew. That was so hard to find, I was surprised. But when I found this place, I was able to finally get my hands on some and I'd show up once a month or so to pick up a .33L bottle. Yes, it's my favorite soda. I try not to drink too much of it, but once you can't have something, it suddenly becomes more desirable.

you are right about mountain dew... it gets a bad rap sometimes, but I love citrus flavors.. orange Fanta too.

I'm not such a big fan of orange sodas... they can be good though from time to time... but Mountain Dew? If I want soda, and they have it, that's what I'm getting :D

Mountain Dew is way too sweet for me, probably the reason why it's pretty rare in Germany.

I like Jarritos sodas, since they don't have as much sugar. Tamarind (underappreciated ingredient in the states) and Mandarin flavors are my favorite kinds by them, but they're all good... Still, I enjoy the Mountain Dew too. Love Root Beer also, but that has even more sugars than most of the other soft drinks! I drink them sparingly, but... I have to admit, I love chocolate and various candies still. I have Twix, Skittles (sour), Sweet Tarts, Nerds, some really old candy canes I've been aging(I like them when they get old and chewy), some kind of off-brand caramel chocolates, Dove chocolates, and grabbed some after easter sales on some of the chocolate rabbits too. They're fun! I've almost always got a half a bag or two of chocolate, or some bars I'll nibble on. Same with the sugary sweets.

My girlfriend pesters me about eating all the sweets, but I'm just really into sweets!

Just don't get me started on ice creams, gelatos, or cheesecake!

I'm not that big of a fan of tamarind or mandarin honestly. And I despise Root Beer :D

To each their own! Glad you got ahold of what you liked on occasion though! That's always a treat when it's hard to come by... There are just some places that seem to have that one thing that nobody else does... :P

South side of the U-Bahn station underground, the convenience store there. The side that has the Fotoautomat for taking pictures for Passports :D

It's different than Fanta. I'm not sure how to compare them :)
