Why you should buy the Nexus 7 (2013) (My Choice):

  • Its 1920x1080 screen has a pixel per inch ratio of 323px/in, vs the Galaxy's 189px/in
  • Its processor is more powerful
  • It's more comfortable to hold one-handed
  • It's always going to have the newest and best version of Android, along with support for the newest custom ROMs

Why you should buy the Galaxy Note 8.0:

  • Its screen is built with Wacom tech, meaning that it would be excellent for drawing using the provided stylus.
  • Its screen is larger by a decent amount
  • Its storage space is expandable with a MicroSD slot

Edit: I've gotta go get SG+ to format this correctly... grumble grumble...

I concur with previous posters, the Nexus is quite fantastic.

I don't have ethier tablets, but from what I have seen, the 2013 Nexus 7 is better. Not only do you get the latest Android version (which always brings new features) but you also get the stock and simple experience only found on Android. It also feels very smooth to use too, thanks to how fast it goes.

I don't own either, but I'd go with the 7 based on the tech specs.

Better processor, better resolution screen so it'll look nicer, vanilla Android* and the 7 is cheaper (in the UK at any rate).

The only 2 things I can see that the 8 has that would make me buy it are the SD card slot and the S-Pen, for writing / drawing, but I'm a sucker for a good screen and plain Android since I got my Nexus 5 so I'd still go for the 7.

*Vanilla Android is a much nicer Android than Samsung's adopted Android, and that's from someone who has used both.
