If the giveaway description requests you send them a friend request, do so. Otherwise, just wait. If you wait 7 days without them contacting you over email or through Steam, then send them a friend request. Be polite the whole time.

Do, I just recently started using the site here. I've entered a whole bunch of give aways, and I've set up two of my own.
So, the other day, I had my first win - Avencast. I know there seems to be some controversy over that particular game for some reason, but I missed out on getting a freebie copy myself, so I was pretty happy to have won.
Now, I have seen a bunch of threads about how long you should wait when trying to contact a winner of a giveaway you made, but I am curious about the etiquette on waiting for to receive your gift if you are a winner?
