Remember those leaked DiRT 3 codes? Well, did they all get removed from Steam? My friend just gave me code and I thought to myself that "all codes were used already anyway and they got removed from Steam", but that code worked. Now I don't know if I should tell Support to remove it from my account or keep it.

EDIT: I sent message to Support. By the rules, they can ban you for using a key with no proof of buying. And since I pressed the "I agree" button before activating the code, I feel like I need to send them a message, which probably means they will remove my game.

Also, its Dirt 3 Retail.

ANOTHER EDIT: If you don't tell them about it, the game will maybe stay in your library, but what will happen when someone gets a game with proof of buying and a code that was used on your account. You will get banned or maybe that user will be able to claim your account.

Tell support about it immediately, they can check the legitimacy of it. If its leak, it will be revoked.

I post on that Support of Steam site that takes 1 week for them to answer me in a very bad way or is there an e-mail of somekind?

those leaked codes were invalidated within a day or two so they can't be activated anymore...
if your code activated fine it wasn't a leaked one :)

They started working again a few weeks later.

I remembered I actually did have a qualifying code, redeemed it on the website, and got an e-mail with a Steam key in it. It wasn't used.

Of course, anyone with access to the leak could have done the same (since it contained both game keys and AMD keys), but the game is still on my account. Haven't played it yet, though, and probably never will.

Check your account

Instead of DiRT 3 Promo, this time it should be

DiRT 3 RETAIL

Right?

I have dirt 3 retail since yesterday. So im sceptical if it is leaked.
Still, I contacted support about it before they decide to "contact" me first.

I've searchedc all major search engines and not found my key at all.

I think more were leaked after the 'big' initial leak. My friend sent me a link with 3000 keys that had been posted two days ago (7th October). Don't know if they were keys from the previous leak or new ones (although I'm pretty sure they were new), but for now I wouldn't activate any DiRT3 keys you find online. So far they've only removed the game from accounts that activated a copy, but you never know if they'll start taking other action...

Do not say anything. The worst that can happen is they will delete the game from your account. Don't get too paranoid over it.

Well my 2 legit codes were in that database so you never know.

You're overreacting. They won't ban you because those keys were already paid for by AMD. Lots of people have activated them and all that happened was they got the game removed from their accounts. Some people still have it.
By what you say in your edits, you should leave this site unless you expect to get a proof of buying for every game you'll win here. And let me tell you, that's not going to happen.

More keys got leaked again, so you just need to tell all your friends to stop activating keys that they get.

They're not going to disable all the keys, there are legitimate ones

Mine was disabled and my account is left unbanned. They know which ones are leaked and not, so contact support.

All of them were leaked, every last one.

They likely just checked which codes were redeemed through the AMD promo page, and disabled those that weren't.

I got a dirt 3 code in trade a couple of weeks ago. 'Then' I found out about the leak, after becoming paranoid, I opened a ticket with steam support. After a couple of days, my ticket was closed and I still have my game. They never said anything, but I presume all the leaked keys were invalidated. Don't worry too much, you're probably fine.
