I wanted to activate my retail copy if NFSU 2...unfortunately they said it's too old and it's not available on origin :(

Yeah, if the game isn't on Origin in the first place obviously you wouldn't be able to get a copy on Origin.

I tried the same thing today, I also have a retail copy from around 8 years ago and when I contacted support they said that they are running low on keys for the game and that I should contact them again in a couple of days.

I'm trying to get my copy of Dragon Age Origins there just for the heck of it, but I get an error every time I try. It does recognize the key at least and doesn't say its already used or anything.

It seems they experience technical difficulties currently, you can try later or speak with support and let them activate in your place.

What if I don't find a game key anywhere, not in Steam or the Registry? Is there any other place I could find it? The game is Ravaged.
EDIT: This game is not published by EA, even though it's on Origin. Does that mean that it's Retail key won't work?

Origin has many non-EA games, and only the EA ones can be activated from outside Origin.
Comment has been collapsed.
What about Secret world? Can it be activated in Origin?
Comment has been collapsed.
If you got it from steam than no. Because if you look carefully in steam, it wasn't published by EA. So steam copy isn't EA game.

You've said that you use origin so you have all of your EA games together in one place, and I can understand that. That's why I dont buy any EA games that are Origin only. I've already made that mistake once with BF3 and I wont be making it again. Sure I'd like to play Dead Space 3 and Mass Effect 3, and I will as soon as EA puts them on Steam.
So you see we both feel the same way about having our complete EA library all in one place. Yours is Origin and mine is Steam. And really all I have to do is wait EA out. There is only so long that EA's investors will put up with the lost sales from their PC games being Origin only. Third parties already bailed. EA claimed that they were ending their partners program, when in reality 3rd parties were being sent off to die by being exclusive to Origin. The service is a ghost town.

Then you'll never play Dead Space 3 or Mass Effect 3 :P

Wait, I'm confused. So, can I activated my Sims 3 Copy onto Steam? It's the boxed copy, so it uses Origin.
Comment has been collapsed.
No, its , Steam to Origin, not the other way around.

i am yet to see anything "shit" about my comment. To start off with origin was officially classified as malware by some anti-virus companies when it first came out, since it aggressively scanned your computer for steam games.
so unless i interpreted your comment wrong what i said it correct.

ive been doing this for a longtime, put bc2 and moh on there. also swtor i didnt get via origin but was added there either with same method or by account linkage of some sort, i cant remember its been too long ago
Comment has been collapsed.
Also note that if you have EA games that were published before a certain date (like BF2 ) they wont xfer to origin without help of support to add to your account on origin. most of these games are games bought at retail and never on a certain service like steam at that time

"If all fails you can go to support and ask them to activate the game for you." under "How Do I activate the game?"
Comment has been collapsed.
yes i was just pointing out that older games must go thru this method. i think it is any game released before 2008 or 2009
Comment has been collapsed.
I think it isn't on Origin to begin with.
EDIT: Nevermind, I actually have Battlefield 2 complete collection on Origin which I activated using my Steam copy.
Comment has been collapsed.
I was able to add complete collection, speak to support regarding BF2.

I said, most of it, not all of it. They fucked up so many things, of course they would get so much hate.

I contacted Chat support today to get them to add my copy of Bad Company 2.. they had some trouble but finially said that its already active on my account..
.. but it doesnt show up in my games.
Not sure the fix to this as I had to go.
Comment has been collapsed.
I got Bad Company 2 through Steam (when it was 4.99) and the key I got did not work through Origin. I told Support that it should work. They asked for my account, password (and Sucruity question answer) and of course- the key. Finally, they got the game in.

I guess Ill try again later then. See if there's anything else they can do. If its showing on their end... maybe they can remove it and readd it. I dunno..

Had a similar problem today with 2 games. Got keys from support, activated, but did not show in Origin. The guy asked me to wait, and after that to refresh the games list. Showed them then.
Also, seemed like they were having some slight issues today, as he admitted his tools were slow and so seemed his chat.

How so?
Being prepared to do what others will fall over themselves to do to you is highly prudent.
EA will happily fuck you with anti consumerist practices like Project $10, day one DLC, on disc DLC, pre-order "incentives" and games "requiring" always online connections, to name but a few.
To believe otherwise is naive, to support a company like that is willful ignorance.

"Do unto others before other do unto you" That implies that I should hold the entire human population captive and torture them until I decide to kill them just so they can't do it to me.

What if I grew up in a horrible neighborhood and constantly had to fight for my life?

Thanks for the info! I'll have a look through my games and see which ones I can activate on my Origin account. I do love having backups, just in case I loose access to my Steam account for some reason. You never know, especially with some of the downtime it experiences. :p

Dont care about all the Origin X Steam nonsense going on in the comments, so let me just say.
Thanks for this thread! I would've never considered I could activate my copy of Dead Space on origin, now I can have all 3 games on a single client. (when I buy them, cheaper on Origin for me)

Only EA games I own on steam are Mirrors Edge and Alice Madness Returns

Thanks ;D
Activated these:
No luck with:

I don't have Command & Conquer, but I was able to activate the 3 other games, try support, and did you try the classic EA link?
Comment has been collapsed.
Well,i don't use origin because i think steam it's better,it has community section that it's cool, you can chat with your friends and chat with them while playing, and also origin it's slow...as...fuck. Everytime i check remember me and i close origin,i have to login again and to wait 2 minutes for see ONLY THE FUCKING LIBRARY! WTH origin has only a fu*king library and offer of the day... that's it,the games are on origin AND on steam, and i don't think there will be some more exclusives for origin.
Comment has been collapsed.
Chatting? isn't there chatting in Origin as well?
Origin slow? how can you say that after using Steam?
What are you talking about? it remembers just fine, and logins MUCH faster than Steam.
You see only the library? err maybe it's because it's a gaming platform? what else you fucking expect to see? XDD
Your whole comment sounds like one huge fart.

What games can I activate?
Any EA game that is on *Origin and that you have a key for, regardless of where and when you bought it.
Obviously if the game isn't on Origin you won't be able to redeem it on Origin . . . because it's not on Origin in the first place.
How do I get a key for the game?
Usually the keys for the game are in pretty obvious place. If you're on Steam and don't find it in the usual place you can try and look for it in the registry.
How Do I activate the game?
Notes
P.S; I like Origin and their support, but it in no way means I like EA, EA deserves most of the hate they get.
