Today I tried to activate 4 games, 2 with Steam keys and 2 from boxed retail boxes.
Shank and Shank 2 can't be activated with steam keys on Origin, not even with support but I'm pissed that not even Need For Speed Underground 2 or The Sims Castaway Stories can't be activated on Origin, because they are not even on Origin.
I can't understand that, especially when The Sims has alot of expansions on Origin, why Castaway Stories was left out. I don't care about these games, but I didn't let that show and support should care more than me. Did anyone else talk to Abhishank G. in the live chat support?

If you look carefully, in Steam you'll notice that the game weren't published by EA, so technically the Shank games on Steam aren't EA games, so you can't activate them on Origin.

I activated my Steam copy of Shank on Origin just fine. You can't use your Steam key though, no Steam key will activate on Origin. You have to use the CD key from the game.

Anyone successfully activated a Crysis retail disc on Origin?
It's refusing my Collector's Edition.

I don't think there's a Collector's Edition in Origin, speak with support.

Talked to support. Got copies of Need For Speed Carbon which upgraded to the Collector's Edition, Need For Speed Pro Street, and BF2142 which got upgraded to the Deluxe edition. :)
Hope this helps.
Edit: But I can't get them to give me Mirror's Edge on Origin. :(

Why say you like Origin but not EA? It's the same thing. It's like saying you love Steam but hate Valve. Huuh:??
Also, how can you love Origin when the EULA specifically states that they are data mining you..

Do I need to like the parents of my friends in order to like my friends? Do I need to like the cheff in order to enjoy his food? Does a child not deserve a fair treatment just because his parents are assholes? Hating something just because it's related to something you hate is really despicable, does nothing but spread hate.
And oh no, all the super secret information EA getting from me and all the horrible things they can do with it . . . yeah, right.

I entered my C&C3: Tiberium Wars retail CD key, got an email confirming that it was registered, but it's not in my game library. Any tips?
EDIT: I contacted one of their game advisor support thingies and now it's in my Origin account. Hurray for good customer support!

Ok, so I redeemed Mass Effect using https://activate.ea.com/activategame.do , everything went fine, I recieved a confirmation email and... nothing. After 12 hours still no ME1 in my Origin library. Am I doing it wrong somehow? Should I join that "fuck EA" choir now?

Contact support, I was able to redeem ME1 just fine.

Thanks for the heads up, thought I may give it a try with my old retail copies, since I got myself an Origin after buying Fifa 13 on sale on Amazon, but most of them are not available there thus not activable. That's a shame, since switching my Steam games to Origin seems pointless as I like Steam better, but would really love to add those boxes to my digital collection, because I lost most of those discs.

Yeah, I understand that, but I got really excited over getting those old games on Origin, since I am proud of them and would love to show off. :P
I will eventually get my Steam ones there, but I ain't hasty about that, since I don't really care that much.

Tried to activate Battlefield 2, didn't work at all.
Tried to activate Battlfield: Bad Company 2, I get a message telling me to go to " https://activate.ea.com/applyentitlement.do ", but this link merely sends me to my account profile on the Origin Website. This message appears both when I try redeeming in the client or the website.
I tried using " https://activate.ea.com/activategame.do " to activate the keys but the page gives me a Log-In box, but no matter what, it doesn't log me in, it just reloads the page when I click Sign-In. Yes, the Log-Info is properly introduced.
I won't bother with the support, not much I can tell them to believe me these are new purchases.
Worked with my Dead Space 2, though, so, thank you.

Support for Origin is some of the best I have ever dealt with. As long as you have valid keys for your games they will add them to your account. Most likely making you create an old id via pogo like i just did for 4 games I registered that were retail buys.

Bumping so people who got the bundle and don't know about it see this.

Is it legal to use the key for Origin that Steam created on from your own Steam account to your own Origin account ?
Edit: Even if I generate an extra key trough Steam, I cannot give away my other Origin key ? One HoB license per person.
Edit 2: If you ever get a lock-out on your Steam account (account ban) wouldn't you put your Origin account in danger of a lock-out too ?

Obviously, if it wasn't, they wouldn't give that option. :S
You can do whatever you want with your other Origin key, it's just not morally good, that's all.
No, Steam and Origin operate separately, so Steam decisions doesn't affect in no way Origin, unless you do something that breaks the Tos of both of them, and both of them find out, but if it's just Steam, your Origin account is in no danger.

I still would not use an Steam generated Origin key.

Actually, they keys are not "generated" by Steam, but provided to them by EA. You're only using a second mean to access the same license. As long as the same person is using both accounts, it's perfectly fine. (Anyway, having two people on the same key would screw up things for you in multiplayer games)

The CD-key option will not appear for a game that's not installed. You need to start the install to get the option. (You can cancel the install once you grabbed the key).
Not all games have the CD key option though, some are in the registry and may appear there only after actually playing the games. A few single-player games actually have no CD-key altogether like Mirror's Edge ad Uprising.

No all games have the option though. For some of them you need to dig through the registry.

What games can I activate?
Any EA game that is on *Origin and that you have a key for, regardless of where and when you bought it.
Obviously if the game isn't on Origin you won't be able to redeem it on Origin . . . because it's not on Origin in the first place.
How do I get a key for the game?
Usually the keys for the game are in pretty obvious place. If you're on Steam and don't find it in the usual place you can try and look for it in the registry.
How Do I activate the game?
Notes
P.S; I like Origin and their support, but it in no way means I like EA, EA deserves most of the hate they get.
