This is really just out of pure curiosity:
Do you have many friends on Steam? Do you interact with them regularly? Are they personal friends in real life or acquired from all over the internet?
Just want to get a broad picture here :)
(Also felt like creating a poll, to be honest. Just because. Random as random can be^^)

EDIT:
Curiosity strikes again. Just want to know how many people actually still read this here, so... have a giveaway! :D

Do you have many friends on Steam?

About 1337!
Quite a bunch
A few, I guess
Barely one
... potato?

As for real friends that I keep in touch with, maybe 4-6. But I only have really talked to like 2 of them recently, one being my gf, so of course I talk to her alot XD

I really should keep up with my friends more, but it's just not enough time or anything >~<

Time is probably the rarest of things...

But it's really not natural for everybody to talk to their significant other a lot :D

I'm either texting her or on video call most of the day unless she's at school or an event of sorts xD yay for long distance for 4 years~ but we'll be going to Uni together this Fall ^w^/

And so many times i wish there were 32 hours in the day xP

Oh wow, congratulations on going to Uni together! <3 And on managing a long distance relationship for 4 years (I didn't come close to that when I had one... :D)

Ya XD we've had a number of huge arguments and issues that popped up, but the mindset we took it with was "if we can get past it while like this, then in person it will be far easier." That said, it's by no means easy XP

I have 15 friends. Of those, 3 are close/besties, 2 I talk to sorta on and off, and the rest are just people I met that had good personalities. None of them are real life/personal friends.

Some people like to "collect" female gamers as friends. I don't think it matters if the user is actually female or not in some cases! That could be what is happening to you.

I think Ive seen few people like that when I check their friend list there are like 200 girls on them xD, is it like that?

I think so. If a person has an image of a woman as their Avatar, they will more often than not get a flurry of Friend requests. It doesn't matter if the person says on their account information that they are married, in a commited relationship, not interested, there will be some that will add them anyhow.

With the example you listed, they may not even all be female, as there are some people out there that pretend to be women so as to get free stuff (pathetic, I know, but it is a sad truth).

For myself, if I am sending a friend request I send it to people that sound interesting to me (like-minded interests), or people that come across as nice or personable. If someone sends me a friend request, I will almost-always accept it (unless it is a super-low account that looks hinky to me, or in the one case someone that had a lot of Nazi-oriented stuff on their account).

I tend to babble, so I hope I answered your question to your satisfaction.:)

I hate those "brothers in arms" ascii pictures they post in the Comment section (which is the one with two penises crossing each other), or other crap like that. I am not a prude by any means, but I find them annoying and I will delete those kinds of messages as soon as I get them.

I do like getting the posts from Friends (I've even gotten some from drive-by strangers) where it is a bunch of emoticons put together to form a picture. My friend Talana is one that does that to a lot of her friends. It never ceases to bring a smile to my face when I see a post of hers on my Comment section.:)

I have 477 friends because I'm a trader. I usually avoid chatting, except if someone talks to me first. My real life friends don't usually play games. I had 4 real life friends as steam friends on steam, but now I only have 2, because I deleted the other 2, since I wasn't talking to them through steam, so I wanted to get some empty spots in my friends list.

Yeah, I don't have a space problem anymore. I have 477/725. Nowadays, I only delete people that are offline for a lot of days or people that randomly add me and don't even say why they added me. I'm avoiding random adds in general, but a lot of the people that add me, are really polite, so I don't delete them. :P

Got 8 friends on my list, 4 are from real life, 4 are from Tremor Games I met.

Don't talk too much on Steam though, I honestly just have been taking a break from the games myself and mainly get them for the kids and they love them. Have all the games on this account and a family share setup for another account so they can't risk losing it.

Just wish Steam had a better family sharing option. Hate how I have to lock out all the games if they play even one of them unless I put my account in offline mode.

I have like 100 and something. A lot of them I added recently because of Battleborn, it was easier to find matches. With few of them I interact regularly. With most of them not really.

EDIT: i hate to have about 200 friends that isnt really friends or people that u want to know or just have a short talk.. A time a go i did a really big clean on my Friends List cause i added people or people add me to play, and then we never play together so... IDK.

I have 1 i know irl but thats because most of my friends are either console gamers or don't game at all. I have quite a few friends on Steam but what ends up happening is we will play 1 or 2 games together and then half a year later i get invited by them again and already forgot who they are.
Actually there are probably 2 i don't know irl that i talk to regularly but other than that i have a lot of people that i don't even remember adding.

No real friends. Not many in real life, either. 26 Steam friends; some are from the time when I used to give Steam gifts, some are people I had some contact with on the SG or GOG forums, two alts (family accounts, which I manage), my father (I created that account, too, when I gifted him a game), a brother-in-law.

Edit: Just to be clear, the family accounts are not the father/brother-in-law; I don't manage those accounts, even though I created my father's one. He's not using it any more. My alt accounts are my wife's, which is now more the kids' account (she's no longer playing anything, not that she ever gamed much), and my 'dev' account, which, apart from having some development software (mainly collected, not used) also hosts a subset of the games, simply to make Steam Family Sharing a little more palatable (not that it matters in practice).

I've made... 31 friends from playing 100% Orange Juice. 10-15 of them are from online sources outside of SG, 5 of them are irl friends and I guess the rest are from SG? But do I talk with any of them much? Hm, not really.

Slightly over a hundred at the moment. It's a mix of RL friends, people from work, people from SG and just random people from the internetz. I'm not really that much into talking to them directly, I sometimes interact with someone, but usually not.

I have cleaned my friend list from 380 ? to 130 (now it's 138 again)

Do you interact with them regularly?
with some of them, yes. even via phone, with a few special ones ^_^

Are they personal friends in real life or acquired from all over the internet?
I've met some of them in rl too, so I'd count them as rl (but too far away) friends

Before I started trading I had only a few real-world friends on Steam (people I knew and more or less played with often), but then trading happened and suddenly I had dozens of people on my friends list I would interact with only very occasionally.
