A giveaway of mine ended yesterday, and I went to add them today and I noticed THEY sent ME an invite. I don't know about others, but I find that extremely disrespectful. It's almost like him saying "Give me my game, now!". Was going to send it today but now I think ill wait a few days.

Anyone else had this happen?

Edit: LMFAO funny how the majority of people who think I'm complaining too much about it, have given away 0 games.

Idk, maybe he wanted to say thanks for the giveaway, that's what i would do if i won a game

I don't think that's disrespectful if you didn't clarify in the giveaway that you HAVE to add him first. But it's only my opinion

I always add the person who I won a gift from first so I can actually take the time to tell them thank you and have a small convo with them so they know I"m just not another one of those people who just says "Thanks" in the giveaway comments and never speaks to them again.

I've done something similiar'ish, but my reasoning was I wanted to thank them before accepting the gift. This was before I knew games can be sent outside of emails.

It's entirely your call to give the game whenever you like, just try not to always assume the worst in people.

I have yet to win anything, but I don't see what the big deal is as to who adds who first. Waiting now to send it seems rather strange to me.

Nope, fortunately that never happened to me

Why the hate man? He was just eager to get his game.

Whoever would that that to me would get blocked for life and I would ask for a re-roll.

If they added you first or if they didn't gift you what you won because you added them before they added you?

I was confused were you saying you're block someone and ban them from your giveaways if they added you first [Like the OP is saying] or if someone did something like the OP is doing

I would block communication with people who add me before and ask for the game.

But they added asked him for it they just added him hes saying having them add him is like saying "GIMME GAME NOW!" and for that reason hes holding on to the game a few more days.

He has 7 days to send the game, the one who received has to be patient.

Are you also one of those people who are offended when they're in a restaurant and the waiter hands them a soup spoon to eat your dessert, instead of a dessert spoon?
Man, those waiters are plain disrespectful.

I don't know why you think it's disrespectful man, I encourage the winners of my giveaways to add me on steam, it saves some time XD. All in all it's his game now haha.

By the rules one should be waiting for the e-mail (the official way to send/receive it), and remembering that you have 7 days to complete the process...

"The submitter and winner(s) of the giveaway have seven (7) days to complete the gifting process. This includes the activation of the gift on the Steam account of the winner.

Considering most of my wins have been through a group, and the fact that when the gift is recieved/sent, there is also a friend request sent.

Personally i dont mind if someone would add me first, but i would check the email account and profile on Sgifts if i don't trust it.

I've done that before. I've sent invites to gifters i've won from. I did not intend it to be disrespectful. I was trying to save the generous time and effort. So long as the person adding you was patient and gracious, i don't think its a problem.

Pointless discussion IMO, just give him the fucking game lol. People get upset too easily.

Maybe he wanted to save you the hassle of doing it yourself. Don't see why it matters if he's not actually verbally demanding it. It's very easy to misinterpret actions.

Even if it was a dick move, well, way to respond in kind.

I only did this once, but because I was worried that the giveaway was fake.

I don't really like it when people are impatiently commenting my Steam profile 1-2 hours after the giveaway ends.

I don't get it. Life's too short; give others the benefit of the doubt.

Adding you first = zomg excited
adding you and then immediately sending messages demanding the game = asshat

I don't see it as a big deal.

Someone who was about to be on the receiving end of a gift from you had the AUDACITY to send you a friend invite on Steam?

Tell me about it. Monsters who send friend invites like that should be locked up!

"You sent me a friend invite?! How 'bout I send you a friend invite from Big Steve in the Shower Room!"

That'll teach him.

Sorry if someone else has said it, but sometimes, people ask for the winner to add them on Steam (just saw this in a giveaway recently, :P).
