Anyone else had the winner of their giveaway ADD them first?

I don't think that's disrespectful if you didn't clarify in the giveaway that you HAVE to add him first. But it's only my opinion

I always add the person who I won a gift from first so I can actually take the time to tell them thank you and have a small convo with them so they know I"m just not another one of those people who just says "Thanks" in the giveaway comments and never speaks to them again.

I've done something similiar'ish, but my reasoning was I wanted to thank them before accepting the gift. This was before I knew games can be sent outside of emails.

It's entirely your call to give the game whenever you like, just try not to always assume the worst in people.

I have yet to win anything, but I don't see what the big deal is as to who adds who first. Waiting now to send it seems rather strange to me.

I don't know why you think it's disrespectful man, I encourage the winners of my giveaways to add me on steam, it saves some time XD. All in all it's his game now haha.

By the rules one should be waiting for the e-mail (the official way to send/receive it), and remembering that you have 7 days to complete the process...

Considering most of my wins have been through a group, and the fact that when the gift is recieved/sent, there is also a friend request sent.

Personally i dont mind if someone would add me first, but i would check the email account and profile on Sgifts if i don't trust it.

I've done that before. I've sent invites to gifters i've won from. I did not intend it to be disrespectful. I was trying to save the generous time and effort. So long as the person adding you was patient and gracious, i don't think its a problem.

Maybe he wanted to save you the hassle of doing it yourself. Don't see why it matters if he's not actually verbally demanding it. It's very easy to misinterpret actions.

Even if it was a dick move, well, way to respond in kind.

I only did this once, but because I was worried that the giveaway was fake.

I only just did that the first time I won a game. The emotion of finnaly winning took control of my body. Either that or the devil is going after me.

adding you and then immediately sending messages demanding the game = asshat
