Question about giveaways

I'm planning on giving away a game to self promote a code for a rewards program called AppNana. Is there any rule against that particular thing?

The only thing is:

Referral links are not allowed in the community, and if you choose to post a link, please be sure all referral codes have been removed.

From your post, I'm assuming a referral code to profit from users clicking it? No referral links are to be posted on this site, it will lead to a suspension.

Well, this is still referral. You'll have to point to where it's gonna be used, so it has the same effect as putting it in the link.

The guidelines could be clearer, as the referrals are not allowed, not just the links. I've seen people posting referrals indirectly, and be punished.
