Despite some of the doom and gloom, I rather enjoyed 2017. Got some important (adult) stuff accomplished and generally enjoyed life. I'm proud that I finally applied for my P.eng (professional engineering designation) after year and years...and years of pissing around.

Hope you guys had a good year. Feel free to share your stories of finally surmounting what you thought was an impossible obstacle.

Despite a few rough spots (getting stabbed, my dog getting sick, and dealing with my eye disease), I really can't complain about 2017. I am, however, hoping that 2018 will have fewer bumps in the road.

Merry Christmas, and all my best to everyone on SG for the coming New Year.

Sorry to hear about about the rough patches. My family dog passed away this year and it was very sad. She was a golden retriever who lived nearly 14 years, so she had a good run.

Sorry to hear about your pup, bro. My pup's still kicking, but they think she has Cushing's, but I won't know for sure after her next vet visit (they want to do a liver biopsy first to rule out other things). My mom raises Golden Retrievers - one of my favorite breeds (though I have a Yorkie).

The other stuff with me is minor - but I gotta have my dog around, ya know? :P

Eh, it could have been better. At least 2017 was a better year in university for me.

Not sure how it works where you are but have you passed the P.E. exam? (If there isn't one I guess disregard this)

Thanks for the stuffs :)

Yep, I passed the exam last year. I just needed to finish submitting my work experience.

Cheers Beric! Hope your 2018 is even better.

2017 was a pretty good year overall. No major obstacles that required overcoming, just adjusting to the lifestyle of managing work and family and getting used to less sleep because of a baby (well, 15 months old now).
