Because the incidents half the way across the world has a large possibility of their friends/ family using SteamGifts? Also most the deaths are caused at wars which the injured/ fatalities knew what they were joining up for. They realized they could die, in Boston it was a family day out all cheery and happy and then in a matter of seconds families were ruined with the deaths and amputations.

I don't think you'd be laughing if you had been injured there. It's usually protected kids from the west who have never experienced a bomb blast, mayhem, chaos, death or seen other forms of human suffering up close who say retarded shit like "oh sure, I'd laugh too if I had been injured there". If this thread was about some of the stuff that happened in for example Iraq, or Afghanistan, and there were morons joking about that, I'd be saying the exact same thing - there's nothing funny about human suffering, period. Who says I don't flip out at what happens in other parts of the world? This thread is about a specific topic, so the posts stay topical. Nothing weird about that, nor does it automatically mean we don't care about other atrocities happening around the world. I've lived in the middle east in poverty, I've seen atrocities up close and personal. I've seen people close to death from hunger - heck, I myself could only scrounge by and am lucky to still be here, now, considering that I sometimes had no food for days as a 14 year old boy. I've also seen first-hand the damage war can do to people, not just physically to individuals but also the loss of family and friends, the damage to peoples' psyche, the broken mind that never recovers. I've been close friends with refugees, including ones with severe injuries and missing limbs, physical maiming and disfigurement, both in the middle east and here where I live now, the Netherlands. I've known people from Somalia who had been child soldiers with bullets still stuck in their legs, making them limp. My heart goes out to anyone in this world suffering similar fates, or worse ones such as being the collateral victim of war. And pathetic immature asses like you trying to make flawed bullshit arguments meant purely to harass others who do have a sense of empathy and decency, and try to elevate yourself above them by pretending to be morally superior because there's other things going on in the world, too, and "you're oh so smart to realize that" as well as simply try to justify your own lack of humanity by acting like your attitude of "meh, shit happens" upon seeing images of a young man with his legs blown off is even close to acceptable behavior or decency purely because there's other bad, sometimes worse things happening in the world also - man, do you piss me off.

I sincerely hope you never have to deal with atrocities like war, or extreme poverty. Although, maybe, it would teach you some goddamn respect and empathy.
