Welcome Back HB Main Bundle! What tier shall you buy?
It says current subscribers can use the 10% off coupon for the Monthly Bundle, but there's no clear way of using the coupon. If you try to pay early, it says it will charge your usual method. Has anyone gone through with paying early after getting the coupon? Does it give you an option to use the coupon or use it automatically, or does it ignore it and charge you full price right away?

"NOTE: Expires on March 4th, 2016 at 10 a.m. Pacific time. Eligible for both new and current subscribers. Payment will be applied on the first payment for new subscribers and on the next month's payment for current subscribers."
So, there's no need to do anything. If you're already subscribed, the coupon will be applied when they charge you for the March bundle. You don't have to pay early or unsubscribe then resubscribe or anything.

If it wouldn't be one key per tier, i would maybe think about getting at least the first one, but that way it's a no buy for me, even though the games are good.

IMO Tier 1 really comes down to two things:
1) if you don't have X-Com, you really should buy it for a buck, no doubt about it
2) Whether or not you want to buy Pirates (it's a great game, but being a little older, people aren't as aware of it)
The Ace Patrol games are meh, and IIRC free on your phone. If someone doesn't already have a newer version of Civ, they're just not interested in playing the game.
As for Tier 2, when I checked on my phone what the new bundle was, at $6 it was questionable. But the current price, well, anyone interested in paying that kind of money for these games probably has most of them already, and every single one of these can be had for less on a regular basis.

If i didn't have had X-Com, i may have been good even though it's only one key for all, but since i already have it and not particulary interested in playing the others (and i think i already have Pirates on an older CD somewhere, but not sure where it is), it's just not the thing for me.
But i agree with your points, for someone who doesn't have X-Com if would be a great opportunity to get it, which shouldn't be missed.

I was looking to buy Enemy Within, so this bundle came just in time for me. It would have been even better if they provided separate keys for each game, since I already own XCOM and Civ 5 GOTY. I could have gifted the other Civ 5 to a friend or give it away here :(

Random tidbit, didn't see it being mentioned yet:
You cannot activate Tier 2 without Tier 1. I guess due to not having XCom in library. Tried doing so and Steam refused to activate Tier 2 saying I don't own base game (XCom DLCs are in Tier 2). It may complicate a lot of lives if someone try to GA one of Tier 2 games with the batch key to someone without XCom.
Another complication this bundle will bring.

On the other hand, this actually leads to a more elegant solution - make the GA under the XCOM Enemy Within DLC. Since people are required to own the base game to activate the DLC or join giveaways for the DLC, this should be a viable solution... ;)

1 key policy is stupid since Xcom and Civ have been bundle before

I already post on your steam chat but I post in here anyway incase you miss it.
Xcom complete pack have been bundle before here: https://isthereanydeal.com/specials/#/search:xcomenemyunknown ( Humble 2K Bundle by humble Bundle )
It's included all x-come related such as: Slingshot Pack DLC , Enemy Within DLC .

I'm afraid that you need to change it back. Humble 2k Bundle doesn't have the DLCs for XCOM: Enemy Unknown. It's this The X-COM: Complete Pack, the pack with 5 classic X-Com games, in that bundle, not XCOM: Enemy Unknown Complete Pack
.

This would be awesome if it were individual keys... I'm just glad that I bought the $1 first to see how the price of BTA changed, I was seriously disappointed for not having read that they packaged all the keys of each tier together on a single activation. Douchebag Firaxis.

If it weren't all in one tier per, I'd be very interested, but as it is I have to think very hard about it, since I'd need the BTA tier to justify it (I have all of T1 but pirates I think, and I only want the Xcom DLC from T2) so the reveal had better be good.

Really too bad about the one-key thing. Oh well, Humble, guess you don't want my monies this time out.

Is there a way to make a giveaway for:
XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Sid Meier’s Pirates!, Ace Patrol Bundle, and Sid Meier's Civilization III Complete KEY
AND
X-COM: Complete Pack, Sid Meier's Civilization V: Scrambled Nations Map Pack, and Sid Meier's Civilization V: Scrambled Continents Map KEY
If it is not right now, will it be implemented in future on steam gifts?
Sorry if this was asked before, but I searched and didn't find it.
EDIT: Hmm I think second key can just be given away as X-COM: Complete Pack it's not region locked and not against the rules of this site right ?
I will wait to someone to answer just to be sure

There is currently no way to set up a giveaway for the combined games. If there will ever be... who knows...
Once upon a time, bundles were added to the giveaway list, but then new bundles were released daily and it became impossible to keep doing that. For a time, you could send a support ticket requesting certain bundles be added, or certain game packs - but I don't know if support responds to those things anymore.
So yeah, create a giveaway for any one of the games in the tier and hope the winner doesn't own everything else ;)
It's not against the rules to give more games than the giveaway says.

Thanks for advice , the contents are so juicy to throw away and there is apparently a Sid Meier's Civilization V - Gods and Kings in 2nd key as well. So I think I will hold for these keys and give them away later or as puzzle or in other means whatever

God what a stupid way to bunch the games. Look I get the reduced key thing, but at least put all of the Civ stuff together on one key, all the X-com stuff on a different key. This really is just throwing away stuff when you only want either or, but not both.

When I go to the store to buy a dozen mixed donuts. The store doesn't make me eat them all. I can have just the chocolate, the GF can have the powdered and we can feed the dog the plain. The way HB is doing this is I have to eat the plain and powdered or throw them away. Digital goods should not be treated any different than physical.

You feed your dog donuts? lol
And actually if the store wanted to they could force you to buy a set # or kind, they chose not to do so,look i get it i do not like this 1 key 1tier thing myself, but it is there product to sell how they see fit,it has nothing to do with Humble, they have no control over how the publisher decides to handle the keys.
Also,if you was to buy those donuts yourself,i guess you would have to waste the ones you do not want,if that is the only thing they had or you would have to skip it.This is just how business works, and when you make a product you get to decide how it is sold, not those buying it.
In the end this is on the publisher not humbe

Ah,yeah it never a good idea to feed the dog while your eating, though you can fix that by not feeding it while your eating and punish it for trying to pick up crumbs you drop,i just think it not very healthy for the dog,and they tend to not know it is not good to eat, they just know it is food lol.
I still on the fence about the bundle because i would be wasting a lot games as i own a lot of them, but what really grinds my gears is i bought the xcom dlc awhile back for 6.00 something if i would have waited i would have jumped on this ...all well that just the way it goes, now i would be wasting a lot of it and can not go GA's of left overs like i had hoped.

No but I could buy the donuts and send them with the kids to the school bake sale. The kids at the school were never going to be the customers of the store that day anyway. Nor would the amount of donuts cause a great drop in value of the stores other donut demand.
And then again I have bought used media from places like Game Stop, Recycled Records, Pawn shops, or used book stores. When in physical form everyone is fine with gifting or reselling only in digital do the rules change.
Also I wasn't so much complaining about stuff being bundled under 1 key but how they did it. It would be like getting 2 hot wheels and a barbie dress in one box where another had a barbie doll and a race track. Just to make people buy 2 different toy boxes.

Ehhhh... Only wanting the CIV V expansions/DLCs from BTA. $10 isn't too bad for those, but on principle I think I'm using that $10 to buy two games I really like on Steam's weekly deals... I know people really like XCOM (incl. my bf) but I just can't get excited about it. IDK why.
Comment has been collapsed.
Just keep in mind the current BTA is 10 dollars,so if you only want the two CIV V games and have no use for the others you might be better of waiting to get them on sale as CIV V complete on sale is usually 12.49.Now if you do not have a lot the others then it still a good deal as Xcom DLC is 6.00-7.49 on sale so just adding the dlc for Xcom is a pretty good deal if you want other games.
Anyhow here is a tip for future bundles that you may be unsure of and want to lock in the early BTA price, just buy the bundle for 1 cent, that will lock in the current BTA at the time of purchase. Then if you decide you want the bundle later you will only have to BTA at the time of purchase by adding to the order total, just remember to keep the email with the link in it.it is good up to 30 days after the bundle is posted.
i locked in my BTA for 6 something but i am unsure if i still want it,given the added cost to add the civ v other major dlc,and i own most of the other stuff, still a hard choice for me lol.

Uh, that's a good tip about the BTA, didn't know about that! Thanks.
Yeah, I only have plain CIV V on Steam and CIV IV outside of Steam. Considering, it'd be a pretty good deal for me. I just don't know if I'd ever play XCOM (and enjoy it).

So Civ 5 Brave New World Expansion is not included? Not quite complete then. Kinda Like getting Tropico 4 steam edition without the DLCs...
Oh wait...
