Bump and thank you - I couldn't resist entering a few of those!

I know the feeling of relatives wanting to tell you about how to better live your life...
A mild example (but a maybe fun story): this holiday I was schooled about how I (young adult, have lived away from home for 8+ years) shouldn't play so much games, that it could be addictive and "steal" my time. I tried to explain that I don't watch TV, and my way to unwind and be entertained is playing games, much similar to how they would watch TV after work and at the weekends. We then talked about how much they watched TV (20+ hours/week), and I then showed my Steam Account which then (after two standard weeks, no holidays) said 22 hours the last two weeks. So, I play half as much games as they sit in front of the TV; and they're worried that some machine is stealing my time ;) Now I've had some more spare time during the holidays and I've been able to double that (yay)
Thanks again for the very nice giveaways, hope you'll have a very nice time at the theatre and dinner with the boyfriend!

if they would complain about me playing games i kinda would understand, as they don´t really understand that it can be an alternative to watching TV (we have a TV and it´s only catching dust xD). It´s more about why we won´t get married already and have some kids as we are getting older.

When it comes to that question in particular I'm lucky since neither my or my girlfriend's parents ask us about when we will have kids (we don't want any), and let us do our own thing, but I know for some people this can be more of an issue.
Two of my friends got married a few years ago, and they don't want kids, and some of their relatives are almost angry with them for that choice. "Who gets married and don't have kids? What's wrong with you?". It's nice that within that group of friends (maybe 20-25 of us), only one is now a parent, and no one else has any plans on kids. From my friends from school about 50% have kids today, and of those who don't have kids a majority (maybe 80-90%) plan to, or want to.
It's nice to have a group of friends who understand and think the same way, and where kids is never the main discussion topic :D Going to celebrate New Year's with them tomorrow, looking forward to it.
Have a great New Year's eve you too :)

Good idea. I'm also getting a bit sick of these nice
visits. Hope you'll enjoy the show and the dinner. :)
P.S. Thank you for all the awesome giveaways.
P.P.S. Happy new year everyone! :D

After the holidays and all those "nice" visits to family and friends i can tell you, that it would have been better to be sick in bed for most of them. Not that i don´t like them, but i prefer to do so from afar, cause they have some outdated opinions how my boyfriend and me should live and always have to remind us about those when they see us -.-
So we decided this year they get a nice smile and only some small gifts and we would treat ourselfes to something as a reward for playing nice (booked some cards for theatre and a nice dinner reservation :D). And after that was payed for i looked a little deeper into my wallet and found there was some left for late Christmas Presents for you guys ^^
