Gurren Lagann, normal crazy yet awesome.
Claymore, crazy gory and dark anime (still good!) set in medieval times
Berserk, it's similar to Claymore, just a bit darker
Detroit Metal City, semi-crazy, though not that good and you have to like metal to some degree while also be able to take jokes about the genre without getting pissed in order to actually like it.
Elfen Lied, only "crazy" at some parts (good splatter there though)
Deadman Wonderland, a good crazy anime with some gore and splatter
Dokuro chan, an angel who keeps killing the same person in different ways and then ressurecting him in order to kill him again in some other way, so yeah it's a bit crazy too
Strange+ is as strange as the name implies that it should be, not sure whether i'd want to recommend it or not though but it's just 4min/episode
Pupa, it's so bad that it's... well, still bad, but it's still crazy in some weird way

Gore could be crazy, depending on how it's made. Though I mentioned the gore mainly as a warning in case someone who can't stand it would watch it. But I still believe that those other animes I mentioned are crazy, like Deadman Wonderland and Akira are like something a mental patient would come up with while also having characters that behave as such. Claymore and Berserk are crazy not in the way that they have gore, because that's as you said, not crazy, but in how the monsters are/behave. Elfen Lied: A young kid slaughtering tons of people at a festival, with the blood flying everywhere, I don't know about you, but I deem that to be a bit crazy.. Dokuro chan, same goes there, an angel keeps killing the same person over and over again in different ways, just to ressurect him and torture him once again, how's that not crazy?

Ok, it depends on the definition of crazyness that you choose. Demential characters or absurd situations. I was limiting myself to absurd situations (excel saga, detroit metal city, flcl...) but I get your point now.
Also I remember how I met Dokuro chan, it was thanks to a gif, and it made me want to watch the series.

Also, I just found out that One-punch Man will be getting an animated version, from what I understand it'll appear later this year. The manga rates pretty high on the crazy scale, so hoping the anime stays true to that.
