⚠️ Region lock ⚠️

Siege Survival: Gloria Victis
The gift link notification shows a very long list of countries that receive region locked keys (from Middle East, Africa, Asia) although there are no subs matching these profiles (perhaps they're newly created subs, not indexed yet on SteamDB, or it could be that some of these countries (from Africa?) do not receive the game).
Will update this when more info is available. So far, what we know:

STAR WARS™: Squadrons

  • RU (maybe BY as well?) does not receive the game

[I like the spotlight game(s)] Some good ones in here this month, and as expected a few fillers too. But overall I'd say it's an ok mix.
[Only with limited deal] I guess I should already start thinking of a creative name and fake address for my 50th Humble Bundle account that I'll have to open to benefit from the $6 deal again this month.
[Happy] I get why people are so salty about Choice, but for me this is an awesome bundle. I was considering buying these games prior to them being bundled, and now I can get them for much cheaper.
[Neutral] I'm not a huge fan of this month but I don't dislike it enough to make me pause my subscription. I'm on the fence.
[Pause] Yikes. Here we go again... I already knew it was going to be a bad month when they offered newer subscribers 2 consecutive months for $6 each.
[Disappointed, lineup] The quality of these bundles has been in a steady decline. I miss the golden age of bundles where you could get 5 good titles for a dollar, those were the times!
[Disappointed, Origin] Considering how much they're pushing Origin keys onto us, I guess they will never understand that we aren't interested in non-Steam items.
[Canceling the subscription] It's actually quite stupid to keep pausing on the $12 plan. Instead, I'll stay unsubbed, wait for a good month, and grab that for $6!
[Choicetato] I know exactly how HB can find the spark they've been missing: a Choice consisting solely of one Paradox game and two thirds of its DLCs!

RU/CIS:

  • STAR WARS™: Squadrons is missing
  • Siege Survival: Gloria Victis (WW) (in steamdb I see that it was activated as sub/582862/)
  • I am Fish - Retail - [Digital] (WW) (no info in steamdb - I can see only app)

Yes, like last month with C&C. I was lucky to get a key for C&C from support (key worked fine for me), but this month the same...
As far as I understand I was the one who got the key, all other got answer that since sales in our region was closed and that is why they unable to provide any replacement :/

Yep, no compensation. Trying again to contact support, but I think there will be no compensation like it was last month (I was just lucky to get C&C key).

Hi, at least, for ukrainian users - STAR WARS™: Squadrons available, so probably missing only for RU, maybe for BY aswell.

Very late update on my support ticket related to missing Star Wars for RU/BY users.
Support answer was - "Key is not available for RU users and they (HB) don't have any compensation for that." Also I've asked about their future plans to provide at least some compensation (i.e. from Humble Games collection) - at the moment of ticket they didn't have any plans (I assume they will not have any plans in future) :(

I managed to win Star Wars key at some site and the funny thing (or sad for users who didn't get the key), that the key worked fine on my RU account, same as it was with C&C key a month ago.

Gamedec and Call of the Sea look nice. I'll probably give Siege Survival a go too.

With one Origin key and a rebundle per month, this is quickly turning into a 6-game bundle for me...

This month is not so bad for me. 1 wishlisted (call of the Sea), and I'm not have troubles with Origin, plus the steam games are single player so is very good for my tastes and collection.

Comment has been collapsed.

Pumpkin Jack has been on my wishlist for a while, I Am Fish was very good, and Call of the Sea looks good. Star Wars Squadrons would be good except it's on Origin, so I'll probably skip in protest because that's not what I signed up for. They changed the wording later on but it initially said we would be receiving Steam keys. Pretty sleazy.

Gamedec is the main standout for me but it's feeling a bit hard to justify it based off just one game....

Call of the Sea and I Am Fish look like they could be good though...

I think I'm on the fence at the moment.

I got a coupon offer last month and it was after they asked why. So it's not necessarily dead.
You can try anyway. Even if you do get to the point where it's actually paused, you can unpause any time before the billing date. And if you get the coupon, you can still pause if you change your mind about the bundle

You should wait for the coupon, last time it took me 2 week to get a coupon (the bundle for $8) with pausing the day of the reveal

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah I'll be getting this one for $8, I actually think this is one of the better Humble Bundle offerings as far as my personal game preferences/genres are concerned. Indies seem decent enough, Gamedec is on wishlist, and for genres this has strategy - Phoenix Point, 3D platformer - Pumpkin Jack, survival - Siege Survival: Gloria Victis. I'm in.

Wasn't even aware of Siege Survival but that looks right up my alley, the reviews saying that it plays like a medieval This War of Mine are convincing.

It ain't that bad. 6 unbundled games (3 on my wishlist, 3 to consider) for >90% off, with "extra", that can be safely ignored if you don't want it, or given away. It's not as prominent as many choices in last couple years, but it's still decent as a bundle, if not a monthly.
Still, I can say that mostly because most of the games are up my alley, and I didn't buy them previously on sales.

And I guess enough was said about Squadrons in other commets, but it's really weak choice on HB's part nonetheless.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

For sure the reduction of the number of games and of the choice really didn't help with the bundle's "worth".
When we had 12 games in the bundle to choose from, it was easier to find something you liked in most bundle.
I am not a fan of strategy games so that's already two I have no interest in. And since I also already own Squadron and Superhot... the value is reducing quickly as a bundle.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah, size reduction is saddening, but I'm not sure it would have been that much better if we had more weaker games (I guess it'd depend on the games). And even with that, we've seen complaining for most of the time with 10-12 games per monthly anyway...
Still, I agree - present setup increases the chances of situation like yours, where one genre you don't enjoy appears, and that immediately brings down the value from reasonable, to sometimes below acceptable.

But then again, coming back to this bundle that is commonly regarded as one of the greater ones, we can see that 18% out of people who took part in the poll declared they wouldn't buy it... o.O

Which, taking all above into consideration, is enough to say that there's absolutely no way for all people to be satisfied :p

Meh, not even saying it´s bad content for the money they´re asking. But for someone who´s hopped on board with an irresistable TW:Warhammer for 12€ instead of 60€ (and smaller backlog) this just does´nt feel as special. I´m not mad, no harm done. Also already own Squadrons & SUPER HOT! SUPER HOT! SUPER HOT!

Guess what i long for are these treats (Bestseller Games Magazine) where something really blows my mind and occupies me for the better part of the following weeks, just that i´m not 14 anymore and these occasions use to become fewer with every month passed :D

Only interested in Call of the Sea and it really isn't worth it to get the bundle just for that. And since can't even do a giveaway of the Star Wars one, might as well completely skip this.

Exactly my thoughts. I played Call of the Sea on Game Pass and loved it. I wanted to own a copy on Steam to replay or to share with others using Family Sharing, but not for $12. Siege Survival is the only other mildly interesting choice for me.

On a side note: remember the days when this site was flooded with giveaways as soon as the new Monthly would release? Whatever happened to them? People are not giving them away anymore or are there really that fewer sales than there used to be?

Damn, I was just thinking that!
I think it could be both but I'm going to venture a guess that most keys that were thrown into one hour long GAs right after the bundle was released are probably finding their way to grey sites now.
So it's 50/50

Steamgifts is overrun from autojoiners, multiaccounters, the ones that buy their overpriced full value asset flip games, listed with $25+, for 8-16 cents in shady russian stores and the ones that grab multiple copies of freebies and give them faster away as the, few, active mods can list them as free.

A lot of users aren't motivated anymore to give something to a site were the owner don't care for all this stuff and a good bunch of the friendly ones and bigger gifters got inactive or left the site.

Nope, that are the changes in the last 1-2 years.
All the listed stuff is much extremer as it was in the past.
And from my WL, friendlist etc. i see much more that got inactive in the last year as in the years before. This last point could be a coincidence but i don't think so because i see differences too with discussions.
Take my food porn thread, as easy example, in the past were there some action when something got posted, the last times that i posted something were the reaction nearly not existent -1x = coincidence, 2x = coincidence, 4x = i don't believe anymore on coincidences like bad picked day, time etc.-.

I see the same diminishing of trusted and well loved users and, in fact, I personally reduced my active time on SG drastically. But all of this happens, at least in my opinion and for me, due to less and less worthwhile bundles coming out, while at the same time my library has become so massive that I most of the times even don't buy the worthwhile ones. Plus, I consider real life more important these days.
Back in the days this site felt way more personal and fun.
All of this plays - for me - a much bigger role than your crusade against black sheep, bad apples, bots, autojoiners and whatnot. Which is fine in itself, if it keeps you entertained.

Yes

Your crusade...

People with more contact to me know that i reduced my "crusade" (to use your word) a lot in the last months and gave up a short while ago (that was the reason why i used the word "overrun" and not ,as on other times, "infested" in my sermon^^). Because the, last 2 active, Mods don't have a chance -as much as they would try-.
But i am still proud that my group and i were responsible for a lot of perma suspensions of people that cheated with multiple accounts, sold wins and such stuff.

Noticed that as well. Looking at archive stats, there are 1-2 giveaways for Call of the Sea, Gamedec, or Phoenix Point each, but a whopping 44 for Mind Control Delete! :o so far of course
So I guess that most people that bought the bundle liked and took for themselves most of the lineup, which is an absolutely mindblowing idea...

Looking at it from another angle, post covid lockdown inflation might've caught up with some people and they could've decided that couple more games is not worth it with ultra cheap gamepass, or other, more pressing expenses.

As for me, I'm also worried that this year's community train might be quite short if this will keep happenning :/

the bundle list got utterly random, way beyond than i've ever expected. i always pointed that out on these forums, but no one ever gave a shit. the satisfaction of pay us dollars for games to give them away as unbundled has been gone a few years ago. also, there's some cancerigenous users that left this site already, but they consumed some of the best users i've met here who did some awesome motivation about giveaways. however, those got replaced by a few that came later, with less strengh, i believe. on the other side, the out side to be more specific, paypal raised their fees (this really hits the trading tradition) and everyone lowered their wealth during pandemics (this seems to be pretty much a major cause)... i honestly believe not even grey sites, the most famous, are doing well like before because they are getting stricter rules every day. anyway, this (and some other that) is the result of several small causes.

That is what I thought as well. Sadly, we went from 1 EUR = 1.22 USD to 1 EUR = 1.07 USD in the past year, so it looks like the cumulative losses of not switching from the 12 USD deal to the 10 EUR deal are getting out of hand, and there is no way Humble ever offers something that would make up for these losses.
