I (re)started with French, but have quite a few courses I haven't totally finished yet and some I might have finished, but haven't had an opportunity to actually use, so I guess it doesn't really count. But still it is a nice option to learn something new.
The ultimate goal is to be able to read all the Harry Potter books in a different language, though I am not that sure I'll make it. But hey, goals are goals, even if bizarre^^

while in school I was pretty fluent in french, but recently noticed that I'm really having trouble to have a conversation in french now
and was already thinking about getting back to using duolingo regularly. having a goal like this to motivate me will help a lot

Something positive? Well, at least for me it is... I am feeling very nostalgic playing Shadowrun Dragonfall at the moment. Haven't played Shadowrun in the last ten years (at a table with strange people and dice and stuff^^) and it is an absolute throwback :D
Maybe I am going to grab the huge stack of rulebooks and check them out again, we'll see :)

I play P&P since 31 years. I played a lot of systems .... Mers/Merp (combined with Rolemaster), Rolemaster, Vampire, D&D, AD&D, Shadowrun, Pathfinder (that are based on the D&D system), Star Wars (in the past without success and now again but with success)

I have the most experience with the MERP/MERS system (i started to play it 31 years ago), combined with Rolemaster, so it is like a second skin for me. Alone because of that i would choose that, plus each one know nowadays "The Lord of the Rings". When i started were it a bit different, i got questions like "you don't go into the woods and attack other people with swords?" -yes, true stuff, that was how my parents and parents from friends thought about pen&paper roleplay.... :-D -.
I would like more experience with Shadowrun with a experienced game master. I think there is much possibility for good stories that are combined with solid rules.
And as "easy to use" system i would recommend Vampire.
