Why must this be only one or the other? Why not make it user configurable? A checkbox or radio button:
Auto-display images: Yes/No.... On/Off

My vote would be to allow images to be positioned within the body of the message.
A related topic (improving the forum). I have no doubt this has been discussed and rejected, but I nevertheless have an opinion. :)

Some way to note Yes! or +1 or a Cat (approval) or a way to note "Thank you". Even if it was 2 or 3 or 4 clickable options, surely it would generate more activity. For example, there are times I might not have time (or perhaps I am just too lazy?) to even write "Thank you!" or "I agree" and so I move along without leaving any feedback/comment, but if I only had to click, I would do so.

Have you realized that when you click in a discussion on a fanatical bundle link (and from other stores/bundles), that sg set automatic a ref link and sg/cg get then a share ?

This is not Steamtrades where isnt single basic function and its total anarchy. While just stupid blacklist will help alot.
Here on SG is everything inc pointless stats, filters etc :) so maybe here he will make some improvements..

Hi,
I've been on this platform for almost 1 year now and I've really loved the discussion section, but I do think we could have a better way to tweak a few things. For instance. Adding images would be a great feature if we could adjust where we want to adjust the image in the text and not just have it as link down below.
Basically what I'm referring, being able to write discussions typically to blog posts or something of a sort. Having images being on top or below the text you're referring creates a more pleasant and more aesthetically looking discussion post.
I don't think there wouldn't be a time where people wouldn't be able to be creative and create some really nice looking discussions that people like to take part in.
I've placed below what I mean in case you don't understand what I mean by this. Anyway, what do you think? Would this be a good idea to be able to adjust wherever you wish to have images and being able to maneuver them around in post?
