Another update was just rolled out, allowing users to delete their own giveaways.

If you view one of your giveaways, you'll see a Delete Giveaway button where the typical Report Giveaway button is located. If you click it, you'll be forwarded to a page where you can select a reason for the deletion from a dropdown menu (See below for the list). After selecting a reason, the giveaway will be instantly removed. I know there are going to be a lot of questions, so I'll try to summarize some of the mains points.

  • First off, about 20% of our support tickets come from users asking for deletes, so this will be a huge help at reducing the workload in support.
  • The site should be cleaner in general since the creator can now delete their own giveaway or beta key after realizing their mistake, instead of submitting to support and waiting on us.
  • Only giveaways which are open or coming soon can be deleted by the giveaway creator. This ensures they do not delete a giveaway after it ends simply because they don't agree with the winner.
  • Deleted giveaways remain on your View Created page. This way, if a moderator removes one of your giveaways, there's still a record in place so you can find out what happened.
  • Giveaways that have been deleted list a reason of why they were removed, and whether the action was performed by a moderator or the giveaway creator. For example, click here.
  • Points are automatically refunded to users that entered a deleted giveaway.
  • When you create a giveaway, there's a notification saying, 'Based on your current feedback score, you're able to create up to x additional gifts.' Deleted giveaways count towards this limit, so if you're able to create 5 additional gifts, and you create and delete them all, you'll be locked out. This prevents users from simply creating and removing giveaways, or trolling.

Haven't been around for a couple of days, and it's nice to see that things have improved (yet again) while I was gone.

So now because I created my first giveaway wrong and deleted it, I can never make it again? Good plan.

It should not be that way. Usually new users can create 3 giveaways. If you are locked out, contact support.

I've never created a giveaway before, and I'm locked out after creating one.

edit: Also, I opened a support ticket yesterday and have received no response.

Then that's a bug. cg will get to your ticket when he can, but support's currently being overhauled, so ticket turnaround times have drastically increased.

I think cg is interested to this probable bug. Unfortunately, there isn't a category named "bug reports" in the form to fill the ticket.

Best update EVER. Now hopefully there won't be full pages full of "Oh, this is fake, my 'friend' made it as a joke" giveaways. Thanks cg!

Nicely done cg, hope the mods can prevent reported giveaways to reach the end.

I have one question tough... Deleting removes the points it generated for everyone? It should, in case some guys are using alts to create points for theyre base account (even if still generating them for everyone)

nice improvement.

you might want to update message that pops up when you're confirming new giveaway

"Stop: Please ensure the above information is accurate. Once the giveaway is created, it can no longer be modified or deleted."

After having to delete 11 giveaways for a similar reason, something along these lines would be nice.

"Did Not Understand How the Site Works: The concept of the site was not fully understood by the giveaway creator and this giveaway has been removed. Please refer to our FAQ to learn more."

Why not just eliminate the calling out rule all together? The only reason any noob on here would delete their giveaway "because they didn't know how the site worked" is because someone called them out in the giveaway comment section and oh wait that's against the rules to do..

When I made a giveaway just now, it said the following: "Stop: Please ensure the above information is accurate. Once the giveaway is created, it can no longer be modified or deleted." Just something that hasn't been updated I'm guessing, but there you go.
