Fehrberlliner Platz

You can enter the station here and catch the U2 or the U7.

This is one of another places I frequented because I was addicted to the Flohmärkte (Flea Markets) in Berlin. This particular one wasn't as pricey as the one at Ostbahnhof, but still carried a lot of nice stuff. However, the people who sold here were very friendly and sociable. Once, when I was with my friend Tyler who was looking for things to furnish his place with, we started talking to these people who had a few things he wanted. It was mostly dishes he was interested in. This very nice set, that was missing a few pieces. While we were there, they offered us pieces of cake, and after Tyler decided he wanted the plates and they wrapped them up for him, they started giving us things. Partially because they liked talking to us and we were so friendly and partially because they didn't want to pack the stuff up again. This was one of my favorite memories here.

My favorite memory was when I was shopping yet again with the girlfriend and she saw some gold earrings with blue sapphires she liked. Knowing her birthday was coming up, I kept an eye on them. We had a policy when it came to things we didn't need. We would walk around and look at things and if something appealed to us, we'd note where it was, and come back later. If it was still there, we'd consider getting it. This was especially useful as if we didn't have that policy, we would have bought a lot of things we really didn't need. She really wanted them though, and I could tell. So as she walked away, I told him I'd be right back quietly and we went to look at another stall. She saw something she wanted there and wanted to ask a question about it, but she wasn't sure if she wanted to bother the seller or not as he was talking to someone else. I encouraged her to just wait a moment if she really wanted them, and I could tell he'd be done in a minute and she'd get his attention. As soon as he started talking to her, I quietly crept off and snuck back two stalls and he had the earrings ready, which I handed him the cash for, thanked him, and quietly resumed my position as she haggled with the seller. When we went back to the original stall, he told her he'd just sold them and was sorry, but she should have bought them when she saw them. As we left, he winked at me, and I mouthed a silent Thanks for keeping up the story. The beautiful moment was a week later, when she opened the box having almost completely forgotten about them, and her whole face lighting up as she realized what she was looking at. She wore those earrings a lot, and as fashionable as she was, she didn't wear things she didn't like. We were both happy with how it turned out.

Ah well, maybe that story is too personal. Oh well. It's a good memory of the place. Berlin and this area anyways.

Perhaps that was part of the problem, I was too attentive though. She didn't have to work for it. I know that sounds strange, but sometimes, that seems to be the case. :/
But I like paying attention :D

hm..
well if she is not as attentively as you it's bad
beside that i don't know how doing such cute things could be wrong
but if it did not last it probably did not fit, in what way ever
i hope you found someone who fits better, and if not i wish you luck in finding the right girl :)

Nah, it's just too public here, and well.. Meh. I already kind of feel like this story was an overshare. :)

Hopefully somewhere in Asia. I'd be in Europe in a heartbeat if I could figure out how to pull it off :D

Too personal? When it comes to a fantastic story (as was yours) personal...itism(jeje) if you will, goes out the window. It was a good read. I know many people thank you for the train for a number of reasons but i'd like to thank you for something else: It's the soul of the train that makes this one special. Thank you for sharing not only games (obviously ;D and to everyone else involved) but for sharing personal stories among the halls of Germany's finest. Thank youuuu!!!

I wouldn't have been able to share those stories without the help of everyone involved carrying out all the tasks they volunteered for, so they still in my opinion deserve the lions share of credit for the train :-)
That said, I very much appreciate your kind words :-)
