So CS:Go is listed as a Daily deal but it has bee 50% off from the start.... Personally I was really hopng for a 75% off sale like last winter so I'm a little disappointed.

However if this is just a bug, then I'll be so glad!

they don't have to but why they got it on daily deal when it already has %50. It is just waste of daily deal space

It's only the second day, and someone else made the same question yesterday: http://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/7F2r3/csgo-in-lower-price

It is listed as a daily deal, ergo it should go on a larger sale than before.

Comment has been collapsed.

Says who? Just because we've had that every other sale does not mean it has to be that way.

This is not the first example we've seen of this, so it's likely safe to assume this is the new standard.

When have we seen this before? This has always been the case, as it was the point of daily and 12 hourly sales.

Depth which was a Daily Deal yesterday, despite having the same price until the 22nd.

I believe there was also a game or two on Day 1, but I can't remember.

So we have two or three examples out of how many that were on a deeper discount? I don't see how this sets it as the "new" standard.

What more do you want, an official statement from Gabe?

No one cares about your sense of entitlement. It's Valve's sale and they'll run it while discounting their games; as they please.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Entitlement? I just want to know the set of rules that the sale follows.. I just would like to know if this is an anomaly or if this will continue for the entire sale. Jesus, is it so bad to want to know how the sale works?

This is a new thing in this sale, not occurring in any other summer or winter sale, so I'd like to know what the Daily sales represent now.

How is it in anyway entitlement?

Permalink

I gave you evidence to support that this is something new and not just an anomaly; you chose to refuse this and demanded more proof.

"I was really hopng for a 75% off sale like last winter" - You felt entitled to a 75% sale due to the fact that it happened last Winter Sale.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

...Not entitled, hopeful. There is a plain obvious difference to these to words. There was one before, I didn't have the money at the time, so I'd love it if the game was on the same or close enough sale. If not whatever.

Also, 3 pieces of evidence does not mean shit when there are countless other pieces of evidence that do not support it. All I am saying is the daily sales, in the current/past format, are deeper discounts on the games. The other titles, whose sale is the same as it was beofe the daily, should not be included in this bunch, UNLESS they decide to change this format, which is fine.

Why do it halfway where some are on deeper sale and some aren't? That's muddled and confusing, and is a cheap tactic to make more money on a game that is just a normal sale. (by having consumers believe they get the better deal spending the money earlier)

Daily deal? The 50% off it has right now is until June 22

Permalink

That's precisely his point. If you look at the main page CS:GO is in the daily deals, but it didn't get any daily deal it's the same deal it's been for the whole sale. So why put it in the daily deals if it won't get a daily deal offer.

Aaaaah, I see, it didn't appear to me as daily deal until I refreshed the page, you're right.

Might be a bug. CSS is -75% off when I look at it through the CS Complete pack (while CS Condition Zero is only -10% lol) and once on the page, it's only -50% off.

This is just the third day of the summer sale. We have 7 days more to go. Relax.

If you actually look at the page, it says "SUMMER SALE! Offer ends June 22," with no timer like a Daily Deal should (for example, "DAILY DEAL! Offer ends in 46:38:49"). Something's gone wrong. Either it's on the front page when it shouldn't be, or the price hasn't updated yet.

They are selling an average of 400k copies each month since the game is available on Steam, they have no reason to drop the price actually.

its been over an hour. they are trying to trick people to think its a deeper discount, and apparently this also happened with portal 2 yesterday. I really wanted the game too.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

The problem isn't the price its that it's being listed as a daily deal when it actually isn't one. Guess they ran out of actual daily deals to fill all of the slots?

I guess all Valve titles will be like this during the sale. Same thing happened with Portal yesterday.

Permalink

Are people even bothering with reading the comment and try to understand what it says. The point is the game is showing in the Daily Deals but it's not getting an extra discount, why does it matters if it's only the third day or even the first. Games on daily deal, flash or in the past in community vote tend to get a higher discount when compared to any other day of the sale.

It's just a trick. Every shop do this, for example some cereal at ''discount -25%! 3$ instead of 4!''. And after that ''sale'' you go to this shop and it's 3$ and there is no infromation that it is on discount. Just a trick, those that haven't seen CS:GO on discount on at the first and second day of Summer Sale will think ''OMG CS ON DAILY DEAL GOTTA BUY THAT!" but it's the same price as yesterday.

im glad it didnt went more than -50% dont wanna more cheaters/smurfs newbies to ruin the MM experiencem ore than it is already ruined( 1,2k hours i know what im talking) if u want it that much u can buy it. I bought game of thrones when it was only -33% and wont go any lower and i had only 20 euros, so if u really want CS:GO so much u can buy it no matter whats the discount.

Last March was the last time. Tbh I agree with the pricing now, its an increasingly popular game and every time there is a sale the amount of throwaway accounts and hackers goes through the roof.

Sorry some of you will have to pay more, but demand is high right now so Valve is doing what makes sense, both economically and for the health of the game.

I'm happy because I bought on the 1st day, because I knew it wouldn't get lower than that. But today when I saw at the daily deal, I almost had a heart attack. Hopefully the price was still the same and I survived another day so far.
