ya kinda have to agree, Thief 4 sounds great at first but the days of good new games from large publishers are long gone. It will probably be not worth getting until 2 years later when they bludgeon the price to eke out another 1/16th of a percent to their quarterly.

I don't know about that one... Deux Ex HR turned out pretty well. Then again, with Sleeping Dogs, Hitman Absolution, Tomb Raider, maybe you're not so far off the mark.

Well, Eidos Montreal did a decent job on DeusEx, but it was not as good as the first one.
I would hope for the better, but without high expectations.

i see a bunch of people saying it looks like dishonored like on other forums and i don't understand why because i think dishonored looks bad and this game looks good oh well. really excited because it looks like they are going back to the first two games.

Dishonored was basically the next best thing in the abscence of a new Thief game. Though not as flexible in the terms of gameplay, it delivered things we love Thief series for: pretty much decent and challenging stealh gameplay and deep and unique setting.

Preorder now and get special access to the "Thief's Coinpurse" and other Day 1 DLC!!!
Just kidding...super excited though. :)

Thief 3 was actually pretty amazing. Even though it moved away from first person camera. For some levels you could forgive every little mistake.
This was the one that got me into series, so I may be somewhat influenced by that. Though I loved the older games as well.

Always wanted to play a game of this series, but I never won it D:

I only pay for overpriced games like BO 2.. oh wait, I won that one as well.

I got the trilogy for like 6-7 euros in late summer/early autumn. It'd be worth even the full price. Waaay worth it. Just to show, I finished the first game in almost 50 hours, so the content shouldn't be a problem. In addition to that, it also has mods, one of which is really great.

You people who have never played Thief don't know what you're missing. The Thief series set the bar so high that nobody has been able to reach it since then. (No, not even Dishonored.) If you like true stealth games, you should definitely go and buy the entire series and play it.

I dare to say, FUCK YEAH, my good gentlemen.
Square Enix plans to release Thief for PS4 and PC sometime in 2014, but the game is also planned for other next-gen consoles.
Now, the thing that bugs me the most is that this game is a reboot. I personally don't see why the hell the series need a reboot, and if this one is a complete restart of the series, so why is Garret already one-eyed?
This could go very, very wrong. But judging a pretty decent job done by Eidos Montreal regarding Deus Ex, I have a small credit of trust in them. No high hopes though.
Some video teasing for you.
Here will new info appear.
