Dang it. Power (and internet) went out before I could get the Fallout package. I know it's about a hundred years old at this point but I've always been curious about going back and playing "how it all started". Oh well, things happen. Maybe next year I'll have extra money and just buy it myself. If the next one really is Death Stranding, I'll be busy for a long time anyway.

EDIT: Okay for some reason, even though I'm logged in to the site. The website thinks I'm singed out when claiming the game and yeets me to the front page.
Managed to claim the game by launching the Epic Launcher and claiming it there. But I see I can't launch my installed games due to being logged out (even though I'm logged in XD ) So I'm assuming their login servers are at borked at the moment due to the number of people visiting their site.

According to the page, the DC upgrade add-on is there for owners of only the base version who want to upgrade at a lower price. The main one is indeed for the DC.

I think base version was pulled and got replaced with Director's cut? On Steam the base version doesnt show on search but DC does. Both stores still have an upgrade option to director's so people with base version can upgrade for a price.

Not it seems to be the standard version and I can log in but the standard version shows as unavailable and the dc version is paid.
So I still have neither version.

It said I claimed the original death stranding as well but its not showing up in my library and is now not available to get. Actually it looks like they took away the giveaway stuff altogether on the store for me.

Epic failure. First they gave away the DC version. Then the standard one (got this one hardly, since for some reason the site logged me out). and now, they REMOVED the free strip from the frontpage + now both games (the standard and the Director's Cut) is not available...
And people still wondering why the "hate" against Epic Store and their client...
Edit: games came back, I own the Standard Edition, and still, there's the "Get" button...

There are reasons to expect either outcome. On one hand, Epic doesn't own the games they give away and they only give them away based on some agreement with the publisher. So they gave away something they had no right to.
On the other hand, it's like you say, they must have some process for undoing purchases, but it's probably not that straightforward and it can't be done by some low-level support staff.
They might consult with DS publishers and with their permission, they will leave it as is. Or they will get started on the removal process. Either way will take some time.

Yeah, I think they would probably just process it like a refund for those that haven't played at least 2 hours. For those that have, it might be a little more complicated. I guess it depends how many copies of the Director's Cut were given out before they realized the mistake and if the publishers are okay with it and Epic Games is willing to take the losses.

Epic would have to pay for the copies of the DC that were accidentally given away. 505 is a very greedy publisher lol so they'd never agree to epic giving away free copies of that when it was the base game that epic was meant to give away. It is possible that epic will just let people keep the DC if it was already added to their account and pay the extra cost (Epic certainly have the money to do it), but it's within their right to revoke copies of the DC as well. Could go either way
