Following your hint that "...protagonist is quite a bit smaller" I was looking for a "ZX Spectrum" (the color pallet gave it away) game where you play a dot/pixel (and/or "fish enemies" heh), but couldn't find it until after you posted the second image.

Looks like Quarantine to me, but I can't figure out why it looks like a tilted photo, as I can't find it anywhere besides as a regular video part of the game's intro.

The first 2 screenshots suggested an adventure game to me, but the last 2 made it clear it was a 2D fighting game of the DOS era. Luckily its name comes pretty early in alphabetical order, so I found it rather quickly on MobyGames. :P

Definitely, next time go with a game starting with M or N! 🤣

I did do a reverse image search + I searched for the soda names and none of them produced any result, so props to Blando for remembering it. 👏👏👏

Oh, FFS! 🤬
I long ago stopped using Google Images for that purpose, as Yandex kicks its ass many times over when it comes to reverse image searching. Guess this is one of the rare cases in which Google still performs better...

I always check "Nail'd it!" trinity: Google images, Yandex images, Tineye.

Resident Evil 3: The Movie - The Videogame De-mastered?

Guns. Lots of guns. (this video is NOT related to the game in any way)

Compared to the Commodore 64 version, the ZX Spectrum version looks like it was made for a calculator (which is why it was so hard to find, and likely why people did not make guesses) & they are only one year apart.

Just to clarify: did you mean a proper sequel? Or a remake/remaster?

Of course, this is correct. I'm sorry this turned out to be this hard, this game was fairly known in most videogames communities I was in, I thought it was pretty easy in the "old" section. It's even Top Dog at HOTU! I didn't want to raise frustration. Sorry everyone! And congrats MjrPITA.

First image's too dark for search engines to recognize anything in & I didn't come up with any keywords that got me anywhere, so I waited.
Second image just gave me tons FPS games, especially Counter Strike. Tried looking up the cafe in the 2nd image, to no avail.
Finally noticed the UI in the second image to be similar to the first one, so I looked that up, wasted too much time on that & started again... lo and behold, just feeding the second image to google gave an image of a different scene of the game (attached).
For the scene itself, I just looked up any long-play to find proof of that Cafe, and it looks like I found the same video LagiNatoRRR used for this entry.

That's a deep research! Or mostly my "laziness mistake"?
No proofs needed, I guess...

Alright folks, I've just about exausted all screenshot options. That is why we're going to try something a bit different for the next clue.
I will start off by answering one yes-no question. First come, first served. Be sure to reply to this comment.

Alright, lets do two more yes-no questions. One per person please.

Well done! All the pictures were from this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlwL4UFAjLQ&ab_channel=%E2%98%85WishingTikal%E2%98%85
How did you manage to find it? Image search or good ol' fashoned detective work?
Comment has been collapsed.
I've spent way too many hours on absolutely no related image search results & only found it with keywords & checking lots of obscure licensed games. Ended up finding it here: https://www.thegamer.com/licensed-games-fans-pretend-dont-exist/
Then verified using the same video you linked it looks like.

With those kind of scores, no wonder nobody covered the game, for us to find anything.

Nice job finding that article! I looked myself for something modern mentioning it, and nothing came up.
I found the game in a bargain bin around 2009. The campaign was bad, but the local battle mode was quite fun with a friend. I got my $5 out of it.

What is a boogaloo?
The Electric Boogaloo is a dance style that became meme-ified to denote crazy sequels, as popularized by the 1984 film Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo. While we are not break dance battling here, it is kind of like a screenshot battle and hence, the "screenshot boogaloo".
