Don't fancy reading a list created by idiots

I do. CoD 4 had a fun storyline. MW2, not so much. Problem is, I also want to know how it ends (playing it for myself. I already looked up the plot), so I'll one day grab MW3 too.

Not all of top lists, thankfully. PC Gamer UK does a Top 100 PC games of all time list every year. I don't agree with all of their choices, but a lot of them I genuinely think are meant to be somewhere on that list.

Well, each year, new games come out and some older games don't stand up as well any more, so it keeps changing. It's also all opinion and opinions change as well. The only difference between the opinions of the PCG writers and the people that voted for this list is that the PCG writers actually know games from before five years ago and know what they're talking about.

You've never heard of Episode Tow? Oh, man, it's amazing. Gordon Freeman's saved the world from the Combine's portals, but his car breaks down on the way to the Borealis. He hijacks a tow truck and just wrecks half the planet in his single-minded pursuit of Combine everywhere. Game of the fucking Year, man.

People that don't know anything about a subject shouldn't be in charge of anything related to it. Case in point - polling people who only know about big-ticket blockbuster games of the past 4 years. Let's have a slow golf clap for Guinness?

Not even a mention of Chrono Trigger. They are idiots.

It is basically the modern console fanboy's list, just the most commercial titles to hit the console market in the last 5 years or so with a few minor exceptions. I find the lack of many rpgs and adventure games disturbing. Plus the twist on Blops could be seen from miles away and has been done better in many other games.

The simple fact that Fallout 3 (assuming that isn't Broken Steel) is on the list, completely invalidates ANYTHING they put on that list.
Fallout 3's ending was horrible. It just boggles my mind that it made it into the top fifty. Both choices were amazingly stupid, and broke game mechanics to give the "tragic" sacrifice.
Also, the first Super Mario Brothers is on the list and nearly in the top ten? How does that work? That is a non-ending. Granted, the Mario Brothers series is pretty much just save the idiot every game. But. the first's "ending" is the best the series has to offer?
This is why top lists shouldn't be just a flat out poll.

Before Broken Steel, I perfectly understand that. How do you feel after BS fixed it?

To be honest, I was so disappointed with the original ending, I didn't bother with any of the DLC.
I've heard it was better, which isn't saying much, but honestly I couldn't care enough to check it out myself.

You're missing the point here. If you seriously think TFU2 deserves to be anywhere near a Top 200 game endings list, let alone a Top 50, you have never read or watched a decent ending in your life.

So, basically, you think that the Lord of the Rings and Jersey Shore (or anything with Snooki in it) are even remotely comparable. Opinion doesn't matter as much as you're trying to claim it does. There are classics for a reason. There are also great stinking turds for a reason, even if those turds are adored by thirty million people. TFU2's ending is a turd worthy of being laid by a Stegosaur, and very, very few appreciated the stench.

To someone who doesn't give a shit about hobbits, wizards, one rings, two rings, and six rings Jersey Shore may very well win out.
You're playing down a personal opinion far too much, honestly. Thirty million people shouting "Hey this is pretty good" with you being the lone dissenter saying "Hey this actually kind of sucks" doesn't make them or you subjectively right.
Classics are still objectively good, even if they are classics. I'm sure there's some lone holdouts who hate Steinbeck or Bronte, despite them being classics. But hey guess what good for them because it's their opinion.
Because it's just, like, your/their opinion, man.

Yes, and we call those people rednecks. Thank you, class dismissed.
And yes, opinion does play a part in everything. But the writing of a master is always very, very obviously more talented than the writing of... well, Stephenie Meyer or Christopher Paolini. Unless you have no experience with quality writing, then you can tell that difference, even if you do like it.
I admit to a passion for the Resident Evil films. I like them, but by no means would I ever call them good enough for a Top 50 endings list. Hell, I read Twilight with an objective mind (conclusion: potentially great vampiric love story to rival the Buffy/Angel or Buffy/Spike romances, but dragged to ruination by a shitty author. This just made me hate it more, as I hate the wasted potential even more than the godawful everything else).
TFU2 is something like that. Like it or not (and I've yet to see anyone actually claim to like the story), you can in no way ever claim it belongs in a Top 50 ending list unless you've only ever seen 50 endings. It's stupid, it's over-the-top, it's the horrible kind of camp, and worst of all, it's talentless (hell, it probably shouldn't even count as an ending, the way it leaves us with no conclusion to anything). Like it or not, it's place on that list is ridiculous.

"Yes, and we call those people rednecks. Thank you, class dismissed."
And if these people are people who live in the city?
Quality is great but some peoples' bar for quality is a hell of a lot than some others which roles right back down to personal opinion. Or peoples' love for schlock. Which anything typically regarded as bad (Twilight, Eragon) can be definitely.
TFU2 would full under full on bad schlock, or possibly something worse than schlock to probably most reasonable people. But obviously that doens't apply to everyone.
Maybe it's an ironic vote that got it there? :V

Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed
A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed,
Then one day he was shootin at some food,
And up through the ground came a bubblin crude.
Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea.
Well the first thing you know ol Jed’s a millionaire,
Kinfolk said Jed move away from there
Said Californy is the place you ought to be
So they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly.
Hills, that is. Swimmin pools, movie stars.
opinion's aside Black opps isn't a best seller because of its complex story line, and block buster twist. it only good as a multiplayer, just like halo. now if you like the story that great, but dont kid your self in saying its one of the great ending's of all time.

They polled 13,519... umm... gamers... apparently. The Force Unleashed II made it to 44. Cue tears of laughter.
