Many may remember me saying how nice it would be if we as a group "toured" the world together in a large-scale event! Well we have 250 landmarks around the world to visit together and it will take a year and a half to finish our travels together. I've divided the 250 landmarks into the main continent areas and planned out a schedule as follows:
Looking for volunteers to:
The success of the event depends on all of us joining in on the creation of it and also everyone solving the creation and experiencing the result together! THANKS ahead of time for your part! Note: HERE is an example of a previous puzzle event I helped put on that had creative volunteers that proved to be a big success!

8/13/2017- Revampped schedule and started with Europe instead of Asia!
There is some incorrect information in the chart for 16 and 17. Those two landmarks are in Taiwan not China.
Adjusted... thanks so much!
No problem, have fun with your event!
I would have covered, if some of the landmarks were in Nepal.
Bump for awesomeness!
I love the idea, have a bump ! I'll be happy to participate for a french landmark when it will be EU's turn.
Rescheduled the continents so first we are doing Europe... (note the change above)
Any of them 14-20 you are interested in?
Sure, while there's nothing from my area I'll be happy to take something. Let's go for Mont Saint-Michel since I already went there. I can take one or two more if you don't find enough people.
Edit: Mont Saint Michel is #12 and you said 14-20, maybe it's already taken ? I can take any Paris thing then. Just tell me :)
If there's a name by the number in the Assigned to column then it's been taken... as you see we just started so about everything is available....
I'll assign you to 12 now. Would be happy if you pick one or two more!
I'll take at least a second one, but I'll wait a bit, in order to let other people choose what they prefer first.
Having a hard time filling this list... would love to have you pick two more... thanks, m0I0!
I might have an issue with that, but please poke me on steam when you're around so we can figure out something if I can help ;)
If nobody takes Sacré Coeur and Arc de Triomphe before any deadline I'll take them... if Evilblacksheep below wants them, no problem :)
Hmmm I think Evilblacksheep put reply in wrong place.?
I've written EBS on Steam... waiting an answer.
Added 15 to your assigned landmarks!
(Sorry for that, I answered in the wrong place as it was the same comment, my bad)
I've posted number 12, you can update with that link: https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/fhYp3/world-landmarks-event-12-mont-saint-michel-france
Aaaand number 15 is finally here :)
Yes, very nice event indeed! Willing to participate with some GAs (when Italy's turn will come in the European section of the event!)
Note schedule above-- Landmarks 33-46 are Italy... November 4th week through end of Dec 2nd week.
Very good, if it's ok for you I will donate 1 or 2 individual gifts.
I am from Rome, so pick any 2 Roman landmarks and I will stick to them :-)
c'era qualcosa che mi suonava familiare... :D
Have a bump! I'll be glad to help in the europe part so we'll talk about that again later ;)
I think I will switch the schedule to do the Europe parts first because they will be smaller events to start with...
2 Europe Parts... 1st part 46 monuments and 2nd part 45...
We can do Asia last. Because once we have a lot of interest and can handle 66 monuments in one part of the event by then...
Let me know which landmark(s) you would be interested from the above schedule-- Event 1 and 2 are now Europe 1 and 2.
I'll pick La Pedrera House (59) if it's fine by you :3
Hey having a time trying to fill this first batch Oct-Dec... can you pick one or two of these?
Sorry for the mix up with the other comment. So, will pick up 11 (Millau Viaduct), 28 (Temple of Apollo) and 37 (Tower of Pisa).
Will keep you updated as we agreed ;)
Assigned! Wow getting excited.... this will be da bomb!
Just a quick question because we never confirmed, you got my mail with the quizz for the viaduct, right?
Bump-- new schedule and now start with EUROPE!!
We've all been eagerly waiting for this idea to realize (for the better part of last year I think). Nice to see it did not get dropped, that Jeff is still at the helm and that it is coming to life! Sweet!
Thanks for the hype!
Even more thanks waiting for you if you pick a landmark to make a puzzle for! ;)
I guess I can take Paris Opera. Been one of the highlight of my last trip to Paris and I guess I can share part of the experience with SG's puzzlers. Will be my first puzzle though (while I am used to solve them) so you'll have to bear with me.
AWESOME!! Assigned Landmark 19 in above schedule!!
Having a hard time filling this list... would love to have you pick one or two more... I'd be willing to help you as you explained it is your first time designing puzzles.
I've been recently to the Milano Cathedral so can relate.
If you move Notre Dame further up (so it is not in adjacent weeks with The Paris Opera) I'll also be able to guide you through I think.
Assigned 14, 19 and 36!
You da man!
Bump for "I'll wait for Sweden". ;)
Hey buddy... was wondering if you would take Eiffel Tower on this first event...
You can use the awesome Eiffel Tower video you designed for connect the dot event and have a few ITH questions to answer based on your video..?
It's number 16 on list above.
I think I only had like 3-4 factoids in that video. If I were to take part I would like to make it more than just 10 questions taken straight from a wiki page. A video would be nice, but I'd have to remake it and one for each of the other landmarks.
I don't have much personal attachment to the landmarks here, except for me and the wife walking across Ponte Vecchio just after we had gotten engaged up on Piazzale Michelangelo. So that's one that's closest to my heart if any. And perhaps the little mermaid in Copenhagen. My mom's told me a story of when I was really young and we were going to see it and I was getting impatient and asked (roughly translated): "Where is that damn sea lady?".
I've only seen a few others IRL, but don't know much about them.
Awesome!! Assigned number 35 landmark in above schedule!!
ahhh right... must have been cross-eyed when I looked at it
I checked other europe event. No Swedish landmarks. :( I'll pick Stonehenge there though. We celebrated our mom's 50th birthday there. It had been a dream of hers to do that since she was a teenager for some reason.
Also, the Sun Gate is not in Spain, it's in Bolivia.
Hope you use that cool 3D Stonehenge you made!
Can pick up to three on each session... would you like to pick one more on this Oct-Dec list?
Poke me on Steam when you're on and have updated the list with all the new picks.
I can handle the Eiffel tower if you want. I've an idea to make it more than just a quizz with few questions.
Awesome! Assigned number 16 above!
Started to work on the Eiffel Tower puzzle. I'll probably had prepared 80% of it tonight.
I also have an idea for another one so you can assign me the Colosseum or Notre Dame as you wish :D
Assigned Colosseum for now... may need you for Norte Dame... will let others have a pick first...
Thanks a million!
Having a hard time filling this list... would love to have you pick one more from above list... thanks, yukulele53!
Hmmm after looking I think I can make something with the Arc de Triomphe.
Momo1991 had requested that one before and I forgot to mark it...
I saw It marked earlier with my name so I've already started something on it. But if it's taken that's fine I'll look for another one!
Reassigned to you... sorry for mishap...
I'll pick the Little Mermaid (6) as well, since you need help with some of the early weeks to get things rolling. Will be a simple and boring ITH though. :P
I know you Nordhbane... it may be an ITH but It's gonna be far from boring... you're really crafty and creative!
As always thanks for the nice event Jeff :)
I think i will wait for America to be able to share an experience
but if you are short of volunteers let me know and I can help
I'll let you know as time goes on! Thanks for being willing to fill in some gaps to make this a success!! ;)
BTW, for America-- click on EVENT 3 above and tell me which landmark(s) in America you want... and I'll go ahead and put you in!!
Sorry for the late response I broke my phone so I havent been browsing as before :)
I will pick 152, 153 and 154 for the event 3
Assigned! Thanks sooo much!
Having a hard time filling this list... would love to have you pick up to three landmarks in the above list... thanks so much mmm92!
I choose 4, 22 and 23
At this moment in my life... this whole event is what I'm looking forward to. completing these puzzles every evening after work, entering giveaways, reading the discussion thread and comments. This is my life now.
WOW that is such a nice thing to say!!
It makes it even more fun when you create a puzzle that others get to solve... so hope to see you volunteer for a landmark during the event... or maybe one during each part? ;)
It's gonna be fuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnn!
As far as it goes for making puzzles, I am not as creative as you but hopefully I'll be able to help when it comes to North America or the Asia portions. But in the meantime, I'll try by contributing some giveaways here and there and may be full trains.
Also by the time NA or Asia starts I'll be able to see what kinda stuff can go where. Your Bundelecious event was the first time I've done a proper puzzle event. I usually stick to playing words or sudoku or minesweeper on my phone for my puzzling needs.
btw do let me know when it is time to start making the giveaways or trains. That way I can help get you started on the giveaways atleast.
Hi Jeff, I'm always happy to help if you're good with a jigidi leading to an ITH. Just assign me stations and I'll meet your deadline. also happy to help with GA's too :-)
As an aside, I've seen the Atomium in Brussels, the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame and Pompideu Center in Paris, France.
Are you saying you are good at making jigidis or ITHs? or both?
I was trying to find a nonogram creator but didn't get too far....
Assigned 1 and 20! Thanks soooo much! Soooo looking forward to it!
Started on #20 yesterday (needs tweaking) and will start #1 later today. :-D
Love the enthuisiam!
Wow... you do realize you have till first week of November for 20? You're an early bird!
Let me know if you get stuck and need me to do more.
Having a hard time filling this list... would love to have you pick one more from the list above... thanks, Momo1991!
Added Are de Triomphe to yours...
Sorry... reassigned to yukelele
Hey Jeff, I'd like to do 234 and 237 if you're happy to assign those already. I can also contribute a train and/or a couple of GA's.
Assigned! Thanks so much!
Having a hard time filling this list... would love to have you pick one or two from the above list... (max three from each session)
No problem, how about 2 and 10.
QQ no Poland, but I can donate some prizes mainly from Humble Monthly ;D
If you click in first chart of 7 events the second part of Europe you see
Landmark 51 is Poland...
51 - Jan 1st week Kosciuszko Mound ICON Poland Kraków
Would you like that one?
Oh you are right :D I'll take it :D
Edit: puzzle should be only about landmark or it can be about city/country too?
Can be both... it's up to you how to present it...
Having a hard time filling this list... would love to have you pick one or two from above list Oct-Dec session...
Bump for puzzle creators unite!
Bump for volunteers!
Give me till sunday to make up my mind ^^ Work is brutally busy right now which is eating away at my general motivation. Germany would be probably the wisest choice but no Bavaria because reasons >.<
No rush... it's an ongoing event starting October and going weekly for 15 months...
You can jump in at any time and do a landmark and months later do another one,..
Hope you join in and pick a few from above list for Oct-Dec session... having a tough time filling the slots...
Thanks if you can! ;)
October is still a bit of time to have some creative ideas. Not sure right now what I want to do but helping you is always a good reason to put in some effort. I guess I'll take the Archer in Dreseden and the Holsten Gate in Lübeck. Time to learn something about my Home Country.
Bump for Uncle Sam Jeff needs you :)
Well played :)
I'll gladly take a Paris landmark. Perhaps the Pyramid at the Louvre. I have an art puzzle that I was planning to use for my very slowly gestating event (that I hoped to launch in August but it is now clearly delayed). But it would work perfectly at the Louvre.
Assigned 17! Sounds exciting and creative... looking forward to it!
Yay, a Mikalye puzzle!
Having a hard time filling this list... would love to have you pick one or two more from above list... thanks, Mikalye!
Sure. Of the ones that could be harder to fill, I could take Vimy (though if we have a Canadian constructor that would be better), but my wife is something of an expert on Vimy. Of the "should be easier" types, there are so many possibilities for the Acropolis I would probably do it as a series of 7 or 8 puzzles in one, with a Metapuzzle as the final result. (A Parthenon puzzle, a Propylaea puzzle, an Erechtheum puzzle, a sancurary of Pandion puzzle, etc.). I could easily see the particular construction of circles and statues in St. Peter's Square in the Vatican City leading to a geometrical logic puzzle. I would probably write a Castel Sant'Angelo puzzle as a logic puzzle too, but that one I would theme after some ludicrous Dan Brown conspiracy, as it was such a key location in severarl of his books, particularly Angels and Demons. So yes, I would do more. There is enough time to do these justice.
Wow! Nice brainstorming!
Assigned and eagerly looking forward to your creations!
Assigned 40 and 51B to Lalwende!
I know that this is not a part of the 1st batch, but may I already have Eindhoven and Moscow? And especially for Moscow, may I choose landmarks myself (so, not to use those ones you already picked)? I promise I'll reveal such a Moscow to you, which you've never seen or expected and will wrap it in a mind blowing puzzle! :)
So you want all of the Eurasia section... take the very last 5 landmarks of the full event Jan 2nd week 2019 to blow us away at the end with awesomeness? 246-250
You can make them any 5 .... doesn't have to be the ones listed...
You also want number 48?
Yes, I want both Eindhoven and Moscow whether possible :)
Also, for me creating a little tour for eindhoven is also preferable.
48 - Eindhoven
246, 247 - Moscow
Having a hard time filling this first session list Oct-Dec... would love to have you pick one or two from above list!
If not, looking forward to your Moscow and Eindhoven...
I can take one landmark for this period I guess.. I will have a better look today's evening 'cause now I have to go to work.
Hey! I was taking a look at South America and I found 2 errors:
Columbia is a district in the US. The South American country is called Colombia. Also, you included Mexico in South America, but it's part of North America. You might have mistaken Latin America with South America. The former is a cultural/linguistic division, while the latter is the real geographical division.
Source: I'm from South America. xD
Fixed spelling of Colombia... and labelled South America to South America and Mexico... would it be better to label S.A. and Mexico to Latin America?
I guess so. SA + Mexico seems weird. I guess Latin America would work better, since it includes The entire America minus US and Canada that are Anglo-Saxon countries, IIRC.
And switch the Bolivia's Sun Gate to South America as well? :)
Congratulations on a job well done!
Better than just saying bump. :)
Now I just have to fix that imgur link you noticed... I think it was one that someone helping me actually had to design an icon for and upload themself...
Here's the correct link:
Fixed! Thanks for the troubleshooting and help!
Bump for awesomeness! Can't wait for the puzzles and the landmarks. :D
Thanks for your enthusiasm!
Thanks for your awesome puzzles! :D Can now only do this favor so. <3
Thanks for the bump!
You're welcome jeff!
49 - Jan 1st week Erasmus Bridge ICON Netherlands Rotterdam Possible to get this one? Bump
Sure! Thanks for volunteering!
Hope also you can pick one or two from above list Oct-Dec session...
Having a hard time filling this list..
i will just wondering about a few things sent you a message about it
would like to have number 33
