Last Sunday our parrot decided to sneak out and got lost for more than 36 hours. My wife and I looked for it, placed flyers at neighbors and placed them on all local social media as missing. We searched for her for 1 hour and a half before sun set and all day, starting from the next morning from 5 AM until 9 PM. We had to take the day off that day to make the search, but went to work the next day, still calling her name if ever she was in that location. On Tuesday, we received a call that they found her and we can come and pick her up and take her home. She is definitely scared now of the outdoors as when she left, on Sunday, 2 hours after that there was a massive thunderstorm that scared her to fly 3 miles away from home.
She is back in her home and she's as cuddly and happy as ever. She did get stress about it and has a lot to work on recovering after the event, but now she doesn't need to worry. Neither do we, as it has been a really sad and stressful time for us.
Because she was found and reunited with us, the place where she was found was named Parrot's Rest. Which I think it's a really cool thing.

A female cat. I even have a name already. I'd go to an animal shelter and look for a young one until that "love at first sight" thingy triggers.
However before that two things must happen, and as life is going, it might be 1-2 years before I can do that.

That's one beautiful looking parrot. I'm glad that she was found safe and sound. Must've been a harrowing experience for you to lose her.

She generally is very naughty and playful. Very much used to be near us and when she was away we could see she was really sad. She's now not the happiest she has ever been but we're helping her recover. The storm really traumatized her.

She loves to sleep with us, but we tend to not allow her always as we never sleep well, and neither does she. She does enjoy our company and is very cuddly. 😅 The picture on the lower right is when she had her first night sleeping alongside us.
