That's the number of games (and dlc, etc...) I've marked 'not interested' on the steam store! :D @_@

There's so much garbage on Steam now (and a lot of probably decent stuff that I'm just not interested in that it's hard to find anything without hiding it. When I joined Steam I think there were something like 2,000 games on Steam, and it was fairly well curated. With 16,000 hidden, I'm scared to see how many are actually on Steam now.
Whenever I hide a giveaway on SG, I click the store link and mark it 'not interested'. Due to the 'explore your queue' tasks during the summer sale I noticed that i was close.

How many games have you guys marked 'not interested' on the Steam store?

-

And of course I've made some giveaways to celebrate!

Hitman: Codename 47
Hitman: Absolution
The Haunted: Hells Reach 6 copies 😱
Prey 2017

EDIT: lext has made a handy userscript that makes going through the discovery queue and marking things and wishlisting them a lot easier/faster
Discovery Queue userscript: https://www.steamgifts.com/go/comment/ucV5UVs

Thanks to my OCD, I had to even up the other numbers on the page too xD

I dont see any sense marking games in steam as not interested.
so have my hidden games number of steamgifts instead: 3,988 games have been added to your filter list.

I only hide them on steam so it's easier to find games I might like when searching through the list of games. I don't go out of my way to hide them, but if I hide them here it's one click to hide them on Steam. The only other time I do is if I'm looking for games to buy.

It makes it "easier" for steam to direct games you have a general interest in on the store page.

Yea.... I couldn't remember how to check the number. Then I saw in one of the previous posts that you linked someone to the page, but I had already posted my comment. v_v

How did you mark 16k while barely using the discovery queue?? Did you use any automation or tool or something, or did you visit each page and click Not Interested 16,000 times?

I've been trying to add 100 wishlist items every day.

If I hide a game here, I'll mark it on Steam too. But sometimes I'll go looking for a game to buy, especially during the sales and mark all of the stuff I come across that I wouldn't like. That way I'll have less to wade through to find the good stuff, and I know if I've seen it before or not.

Does marking "Not Interested" actually help improve the homepage in the long run?

It at least makes steam stop suggesting those games to you and putting them on the front page. it's supposed to help it decide what types of games to show too, but I don't know how well that works.
For me, with 'enhanced steam' I can hide all the marked games, so when do a search games aren't buried amongst the stuff I know I don't want.

Still long way to go, I didn't even know there are 16000 titles on Steam (unless you also mark all DLCs as not interested).

I mark games, dlc, software, videos and anything else. I never look at the videos unless they're in the queue or in the search results though.
I don't know how many games are on Steam, but I'm sure it's near that number

Thanks for the interesting topic and the giveaways.
Got 338 games marked as not interested, some of them look really good and should be on my wishlist but they are multiplayer mainly with no population, thus making my not interested list instead.

exactly. Not all the games I mark are garbage. Some are dead multiplayer games, and some are decent games that just aren't my type.

Whenever I see something on SG that I don't recognize, I check the steam store. If I don't like it I mark it there, and hide it here.
Sometimes, like during sales I'll just run down the list of stuff on sale and check things out.

Only 1523, but I'm working on it!
Edit: I'm blind, I thought you were talking about games hidden on SG. I have 2439 marked as not interested on Steam itself.
